Guy Germaine pov:

When Indie walked over to the team only one thing caught my eye. Her hat. Well, more so my hat. The hat I had left at her house when I was only 9 years old. I couldn't believe she even kept it. She always hated that hat. Constantly reminding me how ugly it looked, but always said it looked good on me. When the team made their way onto the ice, it was the first time in years that I had seen her so genuinely happy. Her eyes squinting with every smile, her nose crinkling with every laugh she let out. Such a shame we hated eachother so much. Since my mom had saw her the week before, she had not stopped talking about her.

"She really got so beautiful." My mother gawked. I just shrugged. "I really hope you two can put your differences aside and become friends again."

"I doubt it." I answered blandly.

"Why's that?" She asked.

"Because she's a-" my mom cut me off, warning me to watch what was about to come out of my mouth. "She's just different. She's just changed alot."

"You can't be too hard on her, honey. She's been through a lot." She tried to reason with me. But what was there to reason with me about. She's different, and not the same girl my mom thinks she is.

"I know, but that doesn't give her the right to be a bully."

"A bully? Don't you think that's too harsh?" She asked

Yes.

"No. That's what she is. Her friends were always rude to us and she did nothing about it. She just watched. She barely ever tried to stop them."

"Barely, hm? So she did attempt to wrangle her friends?" My mom had stumped me.

"Yeah...but they never stopped." I argued.

"Did you ever think that maybe, I don't know, they just didn't listen to her? It seems like she tried a few times."

"I guess." I said quietly.

"Now you're coming to your senses. Try to fix things. I miss my daughter in law." She winked at me as I rolled my eyes.

"Mom, I already told you. I like Connie. And she likes me. Indie is not you're daughter in law."

"Hmm, maybe in another life. I'm off to work, honey. Bye!" My mom waved to me as she walked out the door to go to work. Maybe she was right. But I'd never tell her that.

I skated with Connie while holding her hand and I was having a great time. I looked over to see Indie grabbing onto Adams hands as she spun him around.

"Hey, watch this!" She called out to Adam. She skated in a circle and did one of those weird figure skating tricks where she spun in the air.

"Woah! That was nice!" Tammy complimented as she gave Indie a high five.

"Pshhh, that's easy. Watch me." Averman announced. He tried to recreate the trick that Indie had just done but, obviously wasn't able to. He slipped as he jumped and fell right on his stomach.

"Hah!" She laughed while grabbing her stomach. "Are you okay?" She asked as she extended her hand out to Averman to help him up.

"See, ow. Told you it was easy." He joked.

"Yeah okay." She teased. She and Tammy then tried to each some of the other guys some simple figure skating tricks. Indie never took figure skating, but she used to spend all her free time watching figure skaters do their tricks and would spend hours trying to recreate them and perfect them.

After skating for a while we got to actually watch the game. It was amazing. I went and reached for Connie's hand and placed it into mine. Wow, she really was beautiful. I glanced at Jesse who was staring down Adam. I felt bad. Larson and McGill just so happened to be there and had pointed a finger gun at Indie and Adam. And that clearly bothered Adam. Of course, Indie wasn't going to let that slide. I saw her start to stand up to go after them but Adam grabbed her hand and pulled her back down.

"They're not worth it, Indiana." I heard him say to her.

"Says who?" She argued, trying to stand up again. Adam pulled her back down again and said something along the lines of 'let it go' she sighed, then nodded and frowned. Her face turned a shade of bright red as she stared them down. I could see the hatred in her eyes that she had for them, and it made me think. She never had that look in her eyes when messing with the team. She never looked that angry when her friend would taunt mine. Maybe I had severely misjudged her. My mom was right. She had gone though a lot.
A few moments later I heard the team start to cheer as they pointed at the big screen. It was a sign, welcoming us. Welcoming the ducks. It was so cool. The only one who didn't seem too excited was Indie. She still looked distraught. I looked behind me, and looked up a few rows to see Larson and McGill throwing stuff at her. She looked like she wanted to cry. I had only ever seen her cry twice , when she fell when skating down the road and when her mom left. They were targeting her. And only her. Nothing was thrown at the rest of us. Just her. I felt bad. I looked down at her hands as she harshly picked at them. Seeing spots of blood littering her hands and fingers. She was fighting it. She was fighting the urge to cry. The color drained from her face. And unlike her anger, when she was upset, her face was not red. It wasn't anything. It was pale. She looked like a ghost.

The game had ended and all of us we're waiting on the lobby. I saw Indie tell Adam she was going to the bathroom. I assumed she was embarrassed of crying infront of us so that's why she went. She has been gone for a while. Almost 10 minutes long. I discreetly made my way towards the bathroom and I could not believe what I had seen.

"Where's he going?" Karp asked.

"I'm not sure. Let's go with him. Hey, Guy! Wait up!" I was followed by almost all the guys, except Terry,Tommy,Peter, and Goldberg.
