Indiana James POV:
Anna Germaine was nice enough to give me a ride home at the end of that day. I walked into the house and was greeted by my dad who couldn't be bothered to look up from the TV.

"Hey,dad."

"Hey, kiddo. Where you been?" He asked, still focused on the TV.

"Well, I was at Guys house." I said softly.

"Guy,hm? Haven't heard that name in a while. You two been getting along?" My dad asked, now intrigued enough to look up from the TV.

"I guess. I was only over there because I fell and got hurt at the game, so he offered to bring me to his place to get cleaned up."

"That was nice of him." I responded with a quiet 'mhm' before walking towards the stairs. "That his shirt too?"

"We don't talk about that.." I made my way up the stairs and pushed my door open that was partially blocked by all the stuff on my floor.

"Man, I really gotta clean up." I said to myself while flopping on my bed. I heard tapping on my window and looked up to see Adam outside of it. I motioned for him to come in.

"Hey, Indiana, how you feeling?" He asked while laying next to me on my bed.

"Better. Guys mom was super sweet." I replied.

"And Guy?"

"He was fine. We actually got a chance to talk. But I don't think he actually wants to be my friend. His mom probably told him to be nice." I didn't want to think like that. Actually, I'd like to believe that he actually did want to he just friend again. But realistically, that's promising just a false hope.

"Well, at least you two didn't kill each other." Adam teased.

"Don't speak too soon. He pulls some bull, then I'm going at him." He laughed.

"Oh, I know."

"Can you be honest with me? Like 100% honest. No sugar coating?" I asked sincerely.

"Of course I can." He answered quickly.

"Am I really a bully?" I asked hesitantly.

"What? Indiana, no. Of course not. Why do you think that?"

"I don't know. I mean there must be a reason that Guy hates me. Like, am I a bad friend?" I asked nervously.

"No. You're not a bad friend. I think you're the best friend anyone could ever have." He smiled at me.

"Really?"

"Yes, really." He reassured. "And I don't think Guy hates you."

"You don't?" I asked in disbelief.

"No. I think he's in love with you." My eyes widened and my jaw dropped. Clearly he had to be kidding.

"Ha ha." I said in monotone. "Very funny."

Adam was not laughing. He was serious.

"I'm not kidding. This kid looks at you more than anyone. He literally went after you today to see if you were okay. He offered you a place to get cleaned up."

"I don't think he loves me. I mean we just have a lot of history, Y'know? Our families were just super close. Plus, he's dating Connie." I reasoned.

"I don't know Indiana.." He glanced down at his watch and his eyes widened. "Oh shoot. I'm gonna be late!"

"Late for what?" I asked.

"Grandma loris birthday dinner. I totally forgot. See ya Indiana!" He waved goodbye then climbed out of my window and down my latter.

"Good luck!" Grandma Lori was Adams dads mom. And she was one of thoes mother in laws that didn't like her daughter in law. Almost like 'I'm the only woman in my sons life' kinda way. I would be awaiting the call for all the drama that went down because with grandma Lori and Mrs. Banks, you know there would be a lot .

"Indiana! Dinner!" My dad called out as I heard the front door close.

I hopped down the stairs and made my way to the kitchen.

"I got your favorite! Chinese food!" He announced while placing my food in front of me.

"Sweet!" I began shoveling food into my Mouth when my father announced that he had gotten a phon call right before he left to get food.

"From who?" I asked.

"Anna Germaine." I stopped eating.

"Oh, what did she say?" I asked nervously, hoping she didn't tell my dad about how badly hurt.

"She said she loved having you over today and would love for us to come for dinner tomorrow after your game." My heart skipped a beat.

"Oh."

"But I told her I have work tomorrow." Instant relief. "But she insisted for you to still come." I looked up at my dad in utter panic.

"What? Why would you tell her I was coming?!" I yelped. "This is gonna be so awkward!" I groaned.

"It'll be fine. You love Anna. She is thrilled that you're coming tomorrow." I knew that she would be, but what about Guy? Certainly he's upset about this too.

"This is gonna be so weird.." I groaned.

"You we're over there today, weren't you?" He asked matter of factly.

"Yeah, I guess, but he probably just felt bad." I silently gasped. I knew my cover was blown. If he knew that Larson and McGill were the reason I got hurt, I would be pulled from hockey.

"Why would he have felt bad?" He asked.

I was quick with an alternate story, "Oh, Y'know, because his mom has been itching to see me for the past week. You know how much he loves his mom."

"Oh, I'm sure he wasn't just nice because he felt bad." He reassured.

"Heh, I wouldn't bet on that." I said quietly.

"Make sure you get to bed early, don't wanna be tired for your game." He told me.

"Yeah, I know." I finished eating and put the left overs in the fridge. "Night dad."

"Night, kiddo."

--
About an hour later I received a call from Adam and quickly picked up the phone.

"How'd it go?" I asked excitedly.

"Ugh, where do I even start. So, we get to her house and she starts dogging on my moms dress the second we get there ." He said while laughing.

"Of course she did." I teased. "What else."

"Then she looked at the dish my mom made and started screaming at her and she said 'What is this?? All carbs. You are going to make my handsome son fat!'" I starting laughing so hard on the other end of the phone.

"There is no way!" I said while my laughter died down a bit. "Oh my gosh! You will not believe what my dad got me into!"

"Oh no, what now?" He asked hesitantly.

"He told Germaine's mom that I would come over for dinner tomorrow after the game." I groaned.

"You're kidding."

"Nope." I was not at all excited to go.
