Guy Germaine POV:

"You did what!?" I asked in disbelief.

"It's just one dinner." She defended.

"Mom," I started. "I know you. It wont be just one dinner. You're gonna start to get used to her being around then boom! She's gonna be here all the time!"

"You're so dramatic!" She teased.

"But you don't get it. She hates me!" I shouted.

"Oh, please. She does not. I saw you too chitchatting today." She reasoned.

"Yeah, because you would rip my head off if I was rude."

"Yes, yes I would. Don't talk bad to my girl." She said in a joking manner. But I knew she wasn't kidding.

The next morning was the first game of the playoffs. My mom dropped me off at the rink and I walked into the locker room and saw Adam and Indie sitting together like they usually were.

"You sure you're okay to play?" He asked her.

"Yes, I'm fine. I really wasn't that hurt yesterday." She said annoyed.

"Indiana, your head was dripping with blood." He reasoned.

"That doesn't mean I was hurt!" She argued. Stubborn. As always. I walked towards the back of the locker room to see Connie and put my gear on.

"Hey, Connie."

"Hey. You excited for the game?" She asked excitedly.

"Oh yeah! 100%!" She smiled at me.

"Hey, wanna come over for dinner tonight." My eyes lit up but then soon dimmed.

"Ugh I wish. You won't believe who my mom invited for dinner." I whispered so Indie didn't hear me. Connie knew exactly who I was talking about and her smile dropped.

"Oh, okay." She said sadly. "Your mom seems to really like her.."

"Yeah, umm, our parents are just really good friends." Although that wasn't a lie, I couldn't tell her that my mom loves Indie so much because she wants us together. I didn't want her to not trust me.

"Oh, yeah I get that. My moms best friend, Janine, loves me. Like she's likes a cool aunt." She smiled at me. And I smiled back.

I got my gear on and went back to the front where Averman was trying to act tough.

"No! I'm not going to punch you!" Indie yelled at him.

"Come on! Really I can't feel a thing. I've been working out!" He boasted proudly.

"Are you sure about this?" She asked once more.

"Of course I am. Go ahead! Take your shot." She looked back at the rest of the team the shrugged.

"If you say so.." POW! Two seconds later Averman was on the floor groaning. Her eyes widened big and she dropped to the ground and started apologising.

"I'm so so sorry. I didnt mean to! Are you okay!?" She asked urgently. He sat up as his face was all scrunched up from pain.

"Of course I am. I barely even felt that." He said as he winced. She got up and extended her hand to help him up.

"Man, you just got knocked by a little girl!" Karp teased.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Indie asked offended while crossing her arms.

"Well, you know, girls are just.." she game him a death stare. "Uhh, never mind."

We all suited up and headed out onto the ice. Everyone was all amped up for the game, and I guess it gave us all an extra boost of adrenaline.

We played, and we played hard and we demolished them. We had won and every one was pumped. We had only one more game, and if we won that, we would go against the hawks. As we walked back to the locker Room feeling on top of the world, all that was heard was cheering. Loud cheering.

After I got changed I grabbed my gear and put it in my bag then walked out of the arena. But stopped behind a walls when I heard Banks and Indie talking.

"Stop stressing out! You'll be fine!" Adam said.

"It's gonna be so awkward. He literally hates me!" She whisper-yelled.

"It's fine. I'm sure it will. Why are you so amped up all of the sudden?" He asked with concern.

"I don't know! There's just so much going on recently."

"Like what?" He asked.

"I don't know, just, I mean, it's clear that this team still doesn't like us that much, and now we might have to go up agains the hawks. Then I have school and my dad working doubles like 5 times a week and just- it's a lot." She said in a disappointed tone.

"Well, we still have each other." He comforted.

"Yeah, your right. I gotta go home and like shower and stuff and get ready. What do I wear?!" She panicked.

"Anything?" He said.

"You are zero help." She teased.

I waited till I heard their footsteps trail off enough so it didn't seem obvious I was eavesdropping. I walked out of the building and straight to my moms car.

"Hey, baby. How was the game?" She asked.

"We won." I said happily.

"Oh yeah? How exciting! Have you talked to Indiana today?" She asked. I rolled my eyes.

"No. I haven't. We're not really on speaking terms." She gave me a look then shook her head.

"You'll have to talk to her eventually." She said.

"Says who?" He asked.

"You're on the same team. Whether you like it or not." She shrugged and I threw my head back. I was so sick of her always talking about Indie. 'Indie this' and 'Indie that'. I just wanted her to stop. We weren't friends anymore. And we didn't wanna be friends either. Just because we were teammates doesn't mean anything. I don't think anything will change between us. Even if I wanted it to.

"I want you to look nice tonight." She demanded.

"Why? It's just Indie?" I argued.

"Don't you wanna look your best?" She asked.

"I don't really care." I admitted. "Do I have to dress up?"

"No. Not dress up. Just- just look presentable." I nodded and rolled my eyes. I was not excited at all.
