" Lana," Lo'ak's voice was gentle as he shook the girl. " Lana, you gotta wake up."

The girl stirred awake and groaned, placing her hands on her eyes and rubbing them. She opened them, looking at the boy crouched beside her. Tÿlana groaned and sat up, quickly bringing her hands to her hair and trying to fix the knots.

" Can you help me?" She mumbled tiredly.

" Yeah.." Lo'ak said slowly, not comprehending what she asked. " Yeah, right. Sorry, of course."

He went behind her and took his hands, running them through her hair softly. It wasn't very hard since her hair was really soft and already half untangled. He parted a couple of strands while he tried getting a knot out.

Tÿlana just sat there with her thoughts as he did so.

Was this what my life could look like with my mate? Could Lo'ak be my- Wait no!

" Done." He told her. He stood up and walked in front of her, holding his hand out. She grabbed it and he pulled her up in a swift motion. " I was up early. Everyone is already on the dock."

The two of them walked throughout out of the hut and onto the beach to avoid newly mated couples looking at them weirdly. It would not be a good thing considering everything that happened yesterday. Also the fact she was the Chief's daughter. People would think she was sneaking around with him. Not that she wouldn't mind that .

" Did you have fun last night?" Neteyam teased Tÿlana as soon as the two of them arrived. Ao'nung slapped the back of his head with wide eyes.

" That is my sister bro!"

Tÿlana laughed. She sat down beside Neteyam and Lo'ak sat on the other side of her. Ao'nung and Tsireya eyed their sister as soon as she sat down. The girl rolled her eyes and swatted her hand, trying to shoo their beady eyes off of her.

Kiri wasted no time with the conversation they probably were previously having. " The ocean has blessed you with a gift, brother."

" I'm sorry, what?" Tÿlana kindly cut in. She looked around at everyone confused.

" Lo'ak met a tulkun last night." Rotxo informed his practical sister.

She looked over at him with wide eyes. After they had gone to the pod, they both crashed fairly quickly. No room for conversation apparently.

" You wha-"

" This one had a missing fin. Like a stump on the left side." The boy told them. All of the Metkayina teenagers' eyes widened and they exchanged glances. " What?"
