Tÿlana did not say anything but instead she walked out of the hut and ran to the beach.

She heard her family call after her but the girl couldn't be bothered by them right now. She called for Tulo and once the ilu arrived she was very quick to get on and leave the island. She traveled to her cove and got off, walking to the nearest tree she could find. The girl found many pieces of fruit laying on the ground and picked them up, chucking them at the tree in anger. Some of the fruit would land back on her, leaving bits and juices all over her body but that did not stop her.

" Tÿa.." Lo'ak's voice made her stop for a moment. She shook off the feeling and continued throwing the fruit at the tree, watching it splatter and fall onto the ground. " Lana!"

That made her stop and she whipped around to him, her hair flying behind her. She walked toward him and shoved him. " I told you no! I told you the fucking stories, Lo'ak! I told you the simplest thing and you still went behind my back! I got in trouble for you!"

Lo'ak swallowed heavily and looked down at the sand for a moment. " He isn't a killer, Lana."

" I do not care what Payakan is! He could be a killer, he could be innocent, it is the fact you went behind my back and did what I told you not to do!" She yelled at him, tears clouding her vision again. " My own father is so mad at me because of what you did, Lo'ak."

" I'm sorry. I am so sorry." He apologized as he looked at the girl, walking toward her with hands out. The girl scrunched up her hands in frustration and laughed as the tears went down her face again. Lo'ak frowned at her. This was an interesting way to deal with anger...

" Come on.." He grabbed her hands and gently led her over to the water.

Once they were at knee height, he took the bits of fruit off of her. The girl sniffled and tried to swallow back the feeling of more tears coming on. She had never been told that by her father. Or mother. Anyone, she was not used to getting such backlash like that.

The water splashing on her body brought Tÿlana out of her thoughts and she looked up seeing Lo'ak already looking down at her with a frown. He took her hands in his and brought her in for a tight hug. The girl wrapped her arms around him tightly and sobbed into his chest. Lo'ak's frown deepened and he rested one of his hands on the back of her head, holding her closer to his chest and the other arm was around her torso. He kissed her head gently before resting his on top of her's.

The two of them stayed like that for a long time. Tÿlana found comfort in the boy she was so mad at moments ago and Lo'ak understood why. She got such harsh words thrown at her for something he did. She didn't deserve whatever her father threw at her but yet she still took it. He felt bad that she had to hold her emotions back so much and so often.

" Lana..?" He hesitantly asked after she had stopped crying. The girl looked up at him and her nose crinkled up and her ears went down as if she was about to cry again.

" I'm sorry. I shouldn't have yelled at you. You didn't deserve that." She whispered quietly, looking down at the water with her arms still wrapped around him.

" It's okay. I think I did deserve it." He tried to boost the mood a little bit with his joke at the end. Lo'ak smiled once he heard the girl's laugh and grabbed her face, making her look up at him. " There's that smile."

The smile was wiped off her face quickly and the girl shoved him back into the water with a laugh. The boy slipped on a rock and fell into the water fully. He came up gasping for breath but smiling as he heard her laughing harder.

" Oh so this is funny to you?" He asked, gesturing to his body and the water. Tÿlana's continuing laugh gave him his answer. " It's so on."

" No!" She yelped and backed up, trying to run away from Lo'ak. Something about water was that it was very hard to run in especially when you are knee length in, so it was really easy for Lo'ak to catch the girl and wrap his arms around her waist, hoisting her in the air. " I take it back! I take it back!"

Lo'ak ignored her wiggling around and the tapping on his arms from her trying to get out.

" Say you're sorry."

" For what?"

The answer made Lo'ak laugh before he threw the girl into the water. She came back up, wiping the hair out of her eyes while laughing. She splashed him and swerved to the side when he splashed her back. The two of them both smiled and met halfway.

" Truce?" Tÿlana asked with a smile, holding her hand out.

Lo'ak took the hand and shook it. " Truce."

The girl jokingly brought her hand back and raised them up as if she was going to push him back again but he grabbed her wrists, tugging her closer to him. The tension between them built up as Tÿlana looked up at him with her eyes slightly wide. Lo'ak smirked at her features. He placed one of his hands on her cheek, making sure she kept eye contact with him.

" Do I make you nervous, Lana?" His question was sudden and blunt. Tÿlana's cheeks heated up quickly and she smiled, shrugging lightly. " Good."

Tÿlana leaned up, pressing her lips onto Lo'ak's. The boy let go of her hands so he could place both of his hands on her jawline, pulling her face in closer. The girl wrapped her arms around his neck. Their bodies flushed against each other as they breathed heavily, backing their faces up. They rested their foreheads on one another's, simply just staring into each other's eyes for a moment.

" I see you, Lo'ak."

The words sent a frenzy of butterflies in the boy's stomach as he stared down at the girl he had helplessly been falling for. Three words. That was all it took. He had been told he has been seen by many people in his life but when it came from her...That was everything.

" I see you, Tÿlana."

And suddenly they were walking on a tightrope.
