Neteyam had found Tÿlana sitting on the dock, talking down to an ilu he had never seen. The wood creaked once he stepped on the wrong panel and she turned around and smiled at him.
" Hi Neteyam." She kindly greeted the boy, patting the spot next to her. The boy smiled at her and sat down, putting his feet into the water, tilting his head at the ilu. " This is Tulo."
The ilu chirped happily at the boy, making him laugh a bit. " Hi Tulo."
" So how is life treating you here?" She asked him, turning her head toward the boy. Neteyam looked hesitant to answer. He wanted to sound nice and not like he was ungrateful that they had blessed his family to let them stay within their home.
" It has been alright. Kind of hard to love a place when you do not fully understand the way." Neteyam told her as he looked at the water, unable to make eye contact. The girl laughed which surprised him greatly.
" I understand that, I really do. If I was to come to the forest I would not have a single clue on what to do and it would take me a very long time to adapt or even call it my home." She began, now looking at the water. " It does not help that my brother and his group of morons have made you guys feel so unwelcome here. I'm sorry for that, Neteyam."
" Not your fault. Ao'nung has apologized to Lo'ak and I now..I like to think we are all cool but then again your brother never fails to surprise me with his idiocy." Neteyam was being honest. A little too honest during the last part which made him look at her with wide eyes. " I did not mean to offend-"
" Dude, chill. I get it. Ao'nung is an asshole." Her answer made him laugh loudly. " What?"
" You sound like Lo'ak!" He continued laughing at her English slang, but made a valid point. She really did sound like his brother and it was quite terrifying.
" I do not."
" Oh yeah, you completely do."
The girl jokingly rolled her eyes, a small laugh escaping her own lips. Tÿlana gently shoved the boy. He swayed to the side with a smile now on his face.
" You have been spending a lot of time with Lo'ak lately.." Neteyam hinted at the conversation which made the girl groan.
" Everyone says that! It is not my fault he has an addictive personality! He is just easy to be around." She shrugged with a small smile as she thought about the good moments she has had with the boy. " He has been teaching me English and I have been teaching him how to sign better than what Reya has been teaching you guys."
Neteyam only smirked and looked over at her with a small tilt of his head. The girl had been looking out at the water, finally looked over to him and rolled her eyes.
