"Ugh!" A man with red hair said in disgust as he was in a tavern, working as he watched people come in and drink until wasted

"Oh? What seems to be the matter, Master Diluc?" A man asks as Diluc turns to the shelves of wine and pours a glass for a blue haired, eye patch wearing male

"Kaeya, aren't you supposed to be out there patrolling instead of drinking?" Diluc asks, hinting anger and annoyance in his voice

Kaeya: My, so harsh

Diluc: I thought the Knights of Favonius are supposed to be the city's heroes

Kaeya: Diluc, Diluc, Diluc. Always so sour, even at a beautiful day like this

Diluc: Hmph

Kaeya just smiles as he slurps his wine elegantly, smiling as he looks at the red haired bartender

"Listen, brother -" "Don't you dare call me that!" Diluc hisses as Kaeya places his hand over his heart, pretending to be in pain

"My, Diluc, is this how you treat every customer? Is that why not many come over to the Angel's Share?" Kaeya says smugly as his brother just sighs with annoyance

Diluc and Kaeya had been siblings, well, adoptive siblings, since both could remember. The only reason Diluc was sour is because of finding out Kaeya's secret

He finished his wine and leaves the tavern. Diluc cleans the area and writes down on a notebook on how much Kaeya owed him

Enemies in Mondstadt have been surprisingly scarce, and it made Diluc somewhat happy to find peace

But, he always has a feeling this is just some part of plan the Abyss Order is doing

At night, Diluc defends the city, and no one knows it is him, but hears that they call him the mysterious Darknight Hero

The title? He didn't come up with it, but hearing it annoys him

Diluc is one of the most beloved people in Mondstadt, despite his seriousness and his character, but everyone knows he is kind in heart

The Knights made sure every path was clear for travelers to freely walk out, hopefully with no danger going on

He loves mostly working in the tavern day and night, for he enjoys hearing the people speak rumors, and also, it helps with his heist and strengthens his skills and abilities

"Hey there, Master Diluc!" A chirpy voice called, making Diluc cross his arms and glare at the young man

"Ugh, what is it this time?" He asks as the male points at one of the biggest bottles of dandelion wine

"You'll need money to pay, bard," he says as the bard whines, "Aww, come now, Master Diluc! Can't one of my songs be used to pay for it?"

This bard, is one of the most alcoholic people Diluc has ever met in the tavern, but the only reason he lets him off the hook, is because he knows a secret, his secret

Diluc: Fine, Venti, a song will do, but it better be interesting

Venti: You know I'm good at that! I'm the best bard in Mondstadt!

Diluc: *mumbling* What a god

Venti: What was that?

Diluc: Nothing, just take it and leave

Venti: You're the man!

Venti sprints away with the bottle as Diluc sighs

Venti is the Anemo God, Barbatos, and he knows this identity, because a year and a half ago, he met up with Jean, Aether, and Paimon, trying to save Mondstadt from Dvalin, who was cursed by the Abyss

Diluc steps out and feels the fresh air blow, despite the heat being strong to make anyone sweat

He enjoyed the breeze, and noticed a girl in red, with a headband that make out bunny ears, walk around and helping the people around

He sighs and sits down on one of the tables in front of the tavern, seeing some Knights chattering calmly, not doing their job

"Tch!" He clicks, and the Knights heard him, for they shivered and went back to work

Diluc used to be one of the Knights, but quit after his father died in his arms

He stayed out until he noticed the sky was turning into night, and he went back inside, for the people swarm the tavern at this hour

He even poured a glass of wine, because as the door opened, he was met with the captain, or in his case, his brother

"How thoughtful of you to prepare the drink for me," Kaeya says suavely, chuckling as he took a sip

"Come now, Diluc, try this wine," Kaeya says, but Diluc just looked away and began to prepare the drinks for the other people

Diluc despises alcohol, and Kaeya finds this, unromantic

The place filled as people got drunk. Diluc listened to their conversations, and one caught his ear

"Have you heard about one of my travels? I heard all the monsters have been disappearing randomly."

"Really? Don't they usually roam at this hour? Attacking us and stealing our goods?"

"I know! But it must be Barbatos and the Knights of Favonius who keep us safe!"

Diluc stopped listening as Kaeya chuckles and places the empty glass down

"I'll pay you a visit tomorrow, better not be working," Kaeya slurs as he walked out of the tavern

How odd, Diluc thinks. Monsters not roaming around much, and he was going to check it out himself

"Charles, could you take care of the tavern for a bit? I have an errand to do at the Winery," Diluc lies as Charles nods and takes over

Diluc walks out and notices the people going back inside their homes. He walks around, making sure no one is outside, and climbs over the walls, staying quiet as the night guards watched their surroundings

He strolls away, heading in the direction of his home, the Dawn Winery, but takes a detour when he spots some hilichurls nearby, making conversation in a language he doesn't understand

He grunts and walks away, feeling someone staring at him as he looks behind, seeing no one, and enters his home
