Ch 22 - Diluc & Kaeya (Past)

"What's wrong? Are you alone?" A male voice asks, as he stares at a young little boy, who was looking in the distance, as dark clouds began to form

"It's gonna rain soon, come with me," the man pleads, as the little boy looks at him, and follows him, as the man, with bright red hair, takes his hand, and leads him to a nice mansion

He sighs, "I can't have you out there in the rain, why are you traveling alone? There could be monsters out there."

The boy just looks out the window, "Dad.... I'm waiting for him."

"I'll take care of you until he returns. My name is Crepus, and you are?"

The little boy, with beautiful blue eyes, looking like stars, and nice blue hair, smiles

My name is Kaeya.....

Kaeya Alberich

"Come on!" A little boy, similar to Crepus, red hair, bright red eyes, was running with wine as Kaeya laughs, and both gasp as Crepus becomes upset

"Diluc, this is the 5th time you steal wine from the back! You're gonna clean the cellar by yourself! Understood?"

"Yes...father..." Diluc sighs sadly, as the little boy goes into the wine cellar, cleaning the dust, wiping everything, and Kaeya enters to help him

"Thank you." Diluc smiles, and Kaeya giggles, "No matter what, we will always stay together, ok?"

"Diluc smiles, "Brothers forever?"

Kaeya shakes Diluc's hand, "Brothers forever."

"Diluc Ragvindr, I congratulate you for being the youngest Calvary Captain for the Knights of Favonius!"

Diluc smiles, as his adoptive brother, Kaeya, raises a glass of wine, and Diluc shakes his head, giving Kaeya a joking smile of disappointment

"Come now, Diluc! It's best to drink after getting the position! Grand Master Varka would've been pleased," Kaeya laughs as Diluc smiles

Both make it to the Dawn Winery, as Diluc broke the news to his father, Master Crepus, about his position in the Knights of Favonius

"I'm proud of you," Crepus says, as he closes a small box, and smiles

Kaeya looks down, as he sighs. Diluc pats his shoulder, "Maybe you'll get the position too, for I heard multiple Captains can be chosen."

Kaeya smiles weakly, but looks down, as if something kept bothering him, and it pained him to stay quiet about it

It was night, and monsters attack Mondstadt, as Diluc brought his men to fight them off

He then saw dark power, as a monster bites Diluc's claymore, as the young male growls, pushing the monster off him, and piercing his claymore inside

"The aura is odd....what is this?" Diluc mumbles, as he hears a scream, and his eyes widened in horror

"FATHER!" Diluc runs, as Crepus lies in front of him, and Crepus smiles, "I'm always proud of you, and Kaeya, make sure you two never become apart."

Crepus dies, as he was in Diluc's arms, and the clouds began to pour rain, as Diluc yells in agony, and notices Crepus had a glove, with some kind of Vision like, and takes it, as he cries

"Diluc, are you -" Kaeya's voice immediately stops, as he stares at Crepus, dead in Diluc's arms, as he gasps, staring in horror

Diluc stands up, and storms away, tears in his eyes as he growls, and the Knights watched, not saying a word

On that same day, Kaeya enters the Dawn Winery mansion, as he sighs, "Diluc... I'm sorry about our Father...but...there is something I've been meaning to tell you..."

"And what is that?" Diluc had his hands crossed, as his pyro vision on his waist glows

Kaeya sighs, "I'm....a Khaenri'ahn spy...I was sent here to destroy your industry, well...father's...but...seeing his death...I couldn't do it, and -"

"You...are from Khaenri'ah?!" Diluc was enraged, "AND YOU DIDN'T DARE TELL ME EARLIER UNTIL NOW?!"

"Diluc, I couldn't -" Kaeya was about to speak, as he felt Diluc's claymore swing, and blocks it with his sword

The rain poured, as Diluc and Kaeya battled, and Diluc swings his giant sword, and slashes Kaeya's eye, as the young male yells in pain, covering his slashed eye

"DIE!" Diluc raises his claymore behind, as it covers itself in flames, and swings forward, a giant Phoenix of flames charging at Kaeya, but he felt a power within, as he swings his sword, still covering his injured eye, and ice shoot from the sword, as both looked at each other stunned, and a Vision of cryo appears in front of Kaeya

"Get out," Diluc growls, as Kaeya stares sadly, for he knew he shouldn't have told him...

For he had lost his eye...

His own trust in himself...

His dear brother...

Diluc shakes his head, as the giant wakes up, the poison from the Abyss mage disappears, and looks at Kaeya, who was in his giant hand, his eyes closed

Diluc whimpers, "What have I done?" He places the tiny human down, as Kaeya just had his eyes closed

Diluc tries to wake up Kaeya, as Albedo rushes towards the Calvary Captain, and hugs him

"He's ok," Albedo says as Diluc sighs in relief

I had to summarize the story of the brothers, because one, I'm not writing their whole lore (It'squite long), and 2, I've been busy, so sorry, hope you like it!
