Kennedy Simmons

I've been to Harry's club many times, but this time, it looked so different. All the lights were on, I couldn't smell alcohol or sweat, everything was clean and there wasn't music. The only people around were people who worked there.

Something else that caught my attention was the big wooden boxes that were everywhere around. Some of them had a sign that said 'FRAGILE' in red capital letters. "What's in these boxes?" I asked Harry. "The merchandise." He didn't seem willing to give me more details but I could assume.

Drugs, weapons etc.

"Harry!" A familiar voice was heard. We turned around and saw Mick approaching us. When he saw me he frowned and gave Harry a confused look. "What is she doing here?" In his voice, I could make out a hint of concern. "Don't worry. We can trust her." Harry reassured him. Mick nodded and gave me a look. "It's good to see you again, Kennedy."

Really?

The last time I checked it, he hated me.

"Listen, I know that last time I was dick and I'm sorry about it but... you know what had happened. I can assure you that I'm not like that most of the time."

His explanation was rational, so I nodded, assuring him that I was ok with it. He gave me a smile and then he turned to Harry. "We have a visitor and I don't think you'd want him to see her. He's waiting for you in your office."

Harry immediately tensed and I could see the panic in his eyes. "Why is he here?" His voice was trembling and whatever was happening was really affecting him. "I don't know but I couldn't make him leave."

Harry nodded and then looked at me. "Take her to my room and make sure she's ok. Do not leave her alone." Then he turned to me. He leaned in and whispered in my ear that he'll be back in a while and then, to my surprise, he placed a kiss on my cheek. After he did that, he gave Mick a look, and then he walked away.

"Kennedy, follow me please," Mick said. I nodded and followed him to the room that Harry had taken me the other night after we had found the body. "That is Harry's room?" I asked. "Yes. Sometimes, he stays in the club in order to finish some business and stuff." I nodded, not needing to hear anything else about what kind of business he meant.

"Who is the person that Harry is meeting?" I immediately regretted asking. It was none of my business but I couldn't help my curiosity. Mick seemed tensed too.

"It's not my place to tell you. All I can tell is that he is a really bad and dangerous person." I didn't need to hear anything else. He obviously couldn't tell me more either.

We stayed silent since neither of us had anything to talk about. To be honest, even if he wanted to talk about something, I wouldn't be able to keep up because I was scared. Whoever that person was he had managed to make even someone like Harry tense and panic.

Suddenly the silence was broken by my phone beeping. It was Archie demanding that I meet him at his workplace. "Mick, I have to go to my boyfriend's workplace. Can I leave?"

At first, he was kinda hesitant. "Give me a minute. I have to ask Harry." He texted him and waited for his response. When he finally replied he pulled out his gun and motioned me to follow him. "Is the gun necessary?" I asked feeling uncomfortable just by the view of the lethal weapon.

Personally, I prefer knives.

What?

I was a surgeon!

"Yeah. Sorry about it." I nodded in understanding.

Whoever that someone was, he was that dangerous.
