Kennedy Simmons
"Kennedy?"
I turned around only to be met with a slightly familiar face. The face of Archie's boss, Clark Bonnar.
He was honestly one of the last people I expected to see here simply because people like him don't really associate with people like Harry and his co-workers. There was no doubt that there was something really off with this man but I had no idea what. I just have a bad feeling.
Oh, plus I already knew him.
Don't get me wrong. I didn't know him personally. We probably had talked twice before but I was drunk so I was not sure.
What I knew for sure is that this particular guy had sent people to make my life a living hell. Little did he know that I was bat-shit crazy and I had the time of my life. You can ask his family members.
I had no idea why he pretended he didn't know me though.
Harry, who was standing right behind him, gasped when he heard him calling my name. His eyes widened and he looked panicked. I looked at Mick who was literally mirroring Harry's expression.
"Do you know each other?" Harry asked. "Ughm... Not really. We just met once when I visited Archie at his workplace. Mr Bonnar is his boss."
I emphasized the word once just to remind dear old Clark that we had met before. He smirked at me, meaning that he understood what I was trying to say, but still pretended we didn't know each other.
But why did I feel that this was the wrong answer?
Maybe it was because both Mick and Harry looked terrified for some reason and that scared me too.
"I don't know Kennedy really well but I've heard the best about her from Archie. Plus, I have eyes and I can see that she's a bright young woman with impeccable manners," dear Mr. Bonnar said. "Harry you can bring her along to the party. She's invited. I'm pretty sure she can become a wild party animal. I'm sure Alex would love her. These two are like a copy paste version of each other in behaviour. She's like an... Alexa? Maybe."
Gross!
Back to the subject.
Party?
"Hell no! You're not having a party here, at my club, I'm not going anywhere close to you and neither is she. You better stay the fuck away from her." I didn't expect Harry to snap so suddenly and neither did anyone else. Clark looked satisfied by the reaction he had triggered and a huge smirk had appeared on his face.
That smirk only infuriated Harry more.
He pulled out his gun and pointed it at him. My breath hitched and my heartbeat quickened simply because I was justifiably scared of lethal weapons whose only use was killing. Harry was about to pull the trigger but Mick snapped the gun from him. "Are you crazy, Harry? Are you trying to fucking destroy yourself?"
Mick's yelling seemed to make Harry realise what he was about to do. He looked like he had been hypnotized and he had no consciousness of his actions. Rage had taken over him. Rage for some reason that I didn't know but was without a doubt serious.
Clark started laughing. Laughing at Harry. May I say that for some reason this laugh was the most disgusting laugh I had ever heard?
I had met bad people, criminals. People who should be in prison for life. People who deserved to rot in hell. Truly rotten people. But for some reason, even though I knew nothing about him, I had a feeling that Clark was worse than all of them.
