"Seriously Harry? You should have warned me before getting shot!" Zayn complained like a little kid. "Oh, I'm so sorry, mate. Next time I'll let you know before I almost die." Harry yelled with a voice filled with sarcasm, looking annoyed as hell.
I had to admit that this interaction was quite amusing to me. They were fighting like two four-years-old brothers and by now the people around were all staring.
It had been one week since Harry got shot and it had been way too suspiciously uneventful.
The next day after the surgery Harry insisted that I should sign up in order for him to get discharged. Of course I didn't agree with that but I was aware that he would only cause problems in the hospital. He already had fights with the nurses while he was almost unconscious! Plus he seemed so much better so I signed the papers and after my shift was over I drove him back to his apartment.
During those days he told me not to tell anyone about him getting shot because he didn't want them to worry and start coming over or call him because that would be annoying but, personally, I think he just didn't want them to know that he took a bullet in order to save me.
Right now we were in the same familiar area where the races were taking places. Harry was supposed to run but of course he wasn't able to do that yet.
Zayn wasn't informed about that on time and he wasn't prepared and neither was their other driver and that's the reason why they started fighting and became an attraction for everyone passing by.
"What are we going to do, huh?" Zayn scoffed. Harry looked at me, giving me a small smile before turning back to Zayn. "Kennedy can run."
What?
Did those words really come out of his mouth?
"Are you crazy? Alex himself is running and you know he likes to play dirty." Harry shrugged at Zayn's words. "Nick likes to play dirty too but Ken still won almost effortlessly and she hadn't raced in over a year. I think she can handle it. Plus I can still pull a trigger if the slightest thing goes wrong. What do you think, Ken?"
"Yes! I can do that!" I clapped my hands excitedly while jumping around not beeing able to conceal my happiness. "I can run! I'll be safe! I can do it!"
Harry looked at me with a genuine smile in his face. Apparently my happiness and excitement were contagious because he looked almost as cheerful as me.
Zayn seemed sceptical but eventually he gave in. "Whatever but if anything happens it's on you, Styles." Harry nodded before turning to me. "Your uniform is in the backseat of the car. I kept it from when we were in France."
I quickly ran to the black Lamborghini, picked the bag were my stuff were and went to the dressing room.
While I was preparing I couldn't erase the grin from my lips. I still couldn't believe Harry had agreed to that and for a moment I even thought there would be a catch but I didn't care as long as I was racing.
The moment I stepped out of the dressing room I found Harry resting his back against the wall, waiting for me. When he spotted me his eyes shamelessly traveled up and down my body, with a smirk forming in his face.
"You look hot." He said, placing his hand on my waist and pulling me closer to him until my body was pressed against his. "Now listen." His face turned serious so I knew that whatever he wanted to say to me must be important.
"I may agreed to let you race since I can understand your love for cars but I want you to be careful, okay?" I nodded once.
"I know how much you love this and by depriving you of it only makes me the bad guy since you already are in enough danger. You know what you're doing and I trust you to keep yourself safe. You do not need to win. If things get too complicated I want you to stay behind and find a way to get out of the race. Am I clear?"
