"Tamika, come on! We need to get to the club by 9 so we can get in free.." My friend, Nia groaned.
"Girl, don't rush me..." I said back looking over my outfit one last time. I grabbed my bag as I was satisfied with it and headed out of my dorm.
Tonight my school was hosting a party at one of the hottest clubs in Atlanta so I had to pop out. Besides it was welcome week. I needed some irresponsible fun before classes started and I got too busy to party.
We got into our Uber and made our way to the club. We pregamed a little while getting ready so I was already a little on the tipsy side. I occupied the ride by taking some videos, pictures, and checking some dms.
Its.Kay: Coming to the party tonight?
: Yea
Its.Kay: Cool. Maybe we can link after..
I left her on seen even though I wanted to say yes knowing I would be drunk after and would more than likely want to have sex. However, I really didn't want to have sex with her.
Don't get me wrong she was a cool girl and overall nice to hang out with but it was just something about her that I couldn't connect with romantically.
Deep down I knew it had nothing to do with her specifically. After the last person I had sex with I couldn't really connect with anyone.
We made it to the club just in time to still get in for free and immediately went to get some more drinks. The club was packed and I saw a few familiar faces but paid them no mind.
I was on a mission: Find a cute girl and have sex with her. Ho-ish? Maybe, but if you knew how long it's been you'd be begging me to do it with anyone.
"Girl, look who's here.." Nia said, pointing in the direction of my ex, Kandi. I rolled my eyes and faced away from her. I couldn't stand that girl.
Remember I said after the last person I had sex with I couldn't really connect with anyone. Yeah, we'll that last person was Kandi.
Don't get me wrong, I still love her but we just weren't a good match. We brought out the worst in each other. We'd dated the summer before our freshman year of college and through the fall semester.
We had some great times I had to admit but let's just say the only time we didn't argue was when I was fucking her. Hell, even then I could recall a few times that we actually did argue during sex. Which, ultimately led to us breaking up.
I picked up the shot that was in front of me and threw it back. I guess, I couldn't be too mad that she was here. We went to the same school and this was a highly anticipated party.
It was then I made up my mind that I had to find somebody to go home with tonight. I refused to spend a night that was supposed to be fun reminiscing about her.
I saw a girl from across the party with a bunch of her friends and we locked eyes. I briefly smiled before nodding slightly at her. She waved back shyly and that was all the confirmation I needed to go over there.
