'Beep. Beep. Beep'
The first alarm sounded off throughout the married couples master bedroom signaling it was time for Tamika to get up. She yawned and stretched slowly in bed before leaning over to kiss her wife's forehead.
She slowly slid out of bed as she dragged her feet to go to the bathroom. She made sure to stop by their babies bassinet to make sure she was okay before heading inside of the bathroom and shutting the door.
She groaned as she thought about having to go for work today. That was the last thing she wanted to do after being woken up by their 5 week old, Emery, who had really bad colic.
Her and Kandi took turns holding the baby to get her to calm down but that didn't stop her from waking up every hour it seemed like.
She quickly took a shower and went into the closet to put on her scrubs. She's a pediatric surgeon which was her dream job and it felt surreal to have it. Working with kids was probably the best part to her even though the job itself could be very stress inducing at times.
She had one scheduled surgery for the day and then a consultation with another family. Her surgery was set to start at nine am which meant she needed to be at the hospital by at least eight.
As she threw on my scrubs she heard Kandi's six-o'clock alarm go off and laughed as it quickly went off letting her know Kandi hit snooze. She checked her work bag before bringing it out the closet and setting it on the ottoman at the end of their bed.
She took one look at her wife who was knocked out cold and decided to get her day started for her. It was the least she could do to help out while she was still home.
She walked down the hallway and checked into their thirteen year-olds room to make sure he was up. He tended to drag in the morning and needed to be reminded to do things way too many times for a child that was his age.
"Good morning Amir.." She said as she walked into his room door that was cracked open.
