Kandi"It was like she didn't even care y'all! What the hell?!" I yelled as I sat at table with my friends.
I meant what I said earlier, I really wasn't going on a date tonight. I just wanted Tamika to think that I was. Normally she would've thrown a fit at even the thought of me going on a date. But I had to remind myself that was the old Tamika.
The new Tamika was supportive of whatever I wanted to do. She was everything I begged her to be while we were married. Yet she still had the nerve to be just as fine with sex appeal that was off the charts.
Isn't that some bullshit?
Which made me reminisce on what could have been or maybe what still could be. We already gotten a divorce but I often wondered what if I told her I wanted to work it out instead that night.
Would we be happily married now? I had no way of knowing but I knew more than I ever have before that I wanted her back. I needed her in anyway she'd have me.
It was starting to drive me crazy.
I was successful in my career as a business owner of multiple businesses and I prided myself on being a great mom to my daughter. Yet something was missing.
Something that I had at one point in time, that I craved to have now and it was love. However, it wasn't just any ole love. It was the love that has you smiling the minute you're eyes opened in the morning.
The love I can only get from one person but I was fearful of what anyone would think or say about it. Hence why I'm talking my friends ear off about my problems.
"And you care that she didn't care because?" Tiny asked as she sipped her drink. Everyone seemed to be silent on the matter which wasn't like them.
"I don't know.." I sighed.
"Because she wants her back.." Monica spoke up causing me to cut my eyes at her.
"Maybe I do! Is that stupid?"
"A little.." Toya mumbled causing me to now cut my eyes at her.
"What?! I'm sorry but I thought you were moving on from her.." Toya said.
"How'd you think that? It's been two years and she still had that look in her eye when she talks about her.." Tiny spoke up.
"I do not." I groaned.
"Yes, you do. Your eyes light up." Monica smiled.
"Yeah they do and honestly I was just messing with you. If you want to get back with her then do it. It's nobody's business but y'all." Toya chimed in once again and I nodded.
"Yeah, sometimes you have to have a second chance at something.." Monica said.
"And what if it doesn't work out again?" I sighed.
"Then you'll know. But you won't know unless you try it.." Tiny shrugged.
••
Tamika"Oh, you're stupid as hell!" My sister, Tocha yelled before smacking me upside my head.
"Aye! Don't be putting your hands on me girl. What was I supposed to say? I gotta let her do her, we're not together.." I shrugged after my last statement.
"Yeah, but you know you want her back.."
"No, I want her to be happy and I clearly couldn't even do that when we were together so why should I try now.." I said and she rolled her eyes at me.
