Here We Go Again - Beomgyu x Yeonjun

      The next morning Yeonjun stared meekly at his reflection in the mirror. His face tired from the lack of sleep he received last night.

"Yeonjun," Kai called out his name from down the hall.

The older boy didn't bother responding as his reflection kept him distracted, specifically his left eye.

Kai knocked on the bathroom door and Yeonjun hesitated before opening it.

"Yeonjun," Kai repeated his name as Yeonjun began to dig through his makeup drawer. "I'm sorry."

Yeonjun just sighed as he began to put on an excess amount of concealer over his left eye.

"Say something."

Yeonjun stopped and let out a dreaded laugh, "You really pack a mean punch, don't you?"

Kai pouted his lips, "Are you mad at me?" Yeonjun shook his head. This is something he learnt to deal with during his relationship with Kai.

"I just don't know how I'm supposed to completely cover it for work," he explained as he resumed to do his makeup.

"I didn't mean to."

"It's fine," Yeonjun said. He just hopes that this black eye wouldn't cause a problem at work, "I'll just say I fell down the stairs again."

"Do you think they will believe you?" Kai nervously asked.

"They have before, haven't they?"

"Yeonjun," Kai whined, "You don't deserve this."

"I should have told you what was going on when it was happening, right?" Yeonjun asked, " About me taking Beomgyu home when I found him intoxicated."

"Yeonjun."

"Why do you keep saying my name like that?"

"I'm sorry," the younger boy's voice cracked.

Yeonjun put his makeup down and pulled the tall boy into a hug and allowed him to cry on his shoulder.

From any outsider's perspective this may appear completely fucked up. The person who got hit comforting the person that hit them- but they don't know their relationship.

If Yeonjun recalled correctly, the first time Kai had hit him was around seven months of them being together. Yeonjun was completely outraged to the point that he ended their relationship. Kai cried and cried and asked Yeonjun to talk and for a while Yeonjun was stubborn but there was a part of him that wanted to hear the younger boy out, so he did.

Kai grew up in a toxic household. Alcohol, gambling, substance abuse- the whole package. Naturally, his parents fought a lot over these issues and all he could do was sit there and watch them argue. Sometimes if they got really mad they would put their hands on each other and sometimes even Kai himself.

He grew up being shown that you deal with anger through violence.

If that wasn't bad enough, Kai has been in one other relationship besides his current one with Yeonjun. To be honest, Yeonjun can't recall the guy's name, but he knew Kai loved him, like a lot. He promised to show Kai happiness like he's never seen before. He brought him everything Kai wanted, said all the right words- he lovebombed Kai.

This nice facade only lasted until he knew Kai had strong feelings for him. Once he got what he wanted his true colors started to show.

Kai would get called awful things, threatened and of course hit. Every time Kai would get upset this man had the audacity to say he loved him and was only doing these things to help Kai get over his home situation.
