Beomgyu tried his best to listen to Soobin's story as to why he was hanging around Yeonjun but at some point, he just stopped and began to space out.

Soobin is a great person. He will always go out of his way to help other people, even at the cost of his own convenience. Unlike most people, Soobin will never play the victim in a situation that is his fault and will do whatever it takes to fix it. That's something Beomgyu has always admired about his best friend.

Yes, Beomgyu understands that is all Soobin is doing in this situation. He feels as if it is his fault Yeonjun got hit that night and wants to fix the situation as much as he possibly can, however this is the person who broke his heart.

It is hard to fathom that the one person you care so much about is suddenly spending so much time with someone that they know hurt you greatly. Despite Soobin's good intentions, he can't help but be pretty upset.

On the other hand, there's a part of Beomgyu that wants to ask about Yeonjun and see if he is doing okay.

There were honestly too many emotions happening at once. He decided to do what's best for him and remove himself from the situation. Without any warning, he stood up and pushed his chair in.

Soobin stopped talking and looked at him with a worried expression, "What are you doing?"

"Going back to work," Beomgyu mumbled as he made his way back behind the counter with Soobin following close behind.

"Are you mad at me?" Soobin asked.

"I'm just confused," Beomgyu shook his head, "I need time to clear my head."

"Well, what are you confused about?" Soobin tilted his head, "I thought I explained everything well, but I can talk about it some more if you want."

"No, Soobin I-" Beomgyu let out a long sigh, "I'm not confused about why you're doing what you're doing. I'm confused as to why I feel this way."

"What way are you feeling?" Soobin asked.

"I don't want to talk about it."

"Why not?" Soobin pouted his lips, "I'm your best friend and I want to help you."

Beomgyu glared at him, "Were you even going to tell me about any of this if I hadn't caught you?" Soobin didn't say anything and avoided eye contact which caused Beomgyu to let out a long sigh. "Can you just tell me if he is okay?"

"What?" Soobin looked at him confused. He thought Beomgyu was upset that Yeonjun was talking to him but now he seemed concerned about Yeonjun instead.

Beomgyu rolled his eyes, "Just forget about it."

"You want to know how he is doing?"

"I said just forget about it! Please Soobin," Beomgyu couldn't help but grow annoyed with himself for even asking that question, "I just need some time to think by myself, please."

"I'm sorry," Soobin looked down to the ground, feeling defeated, "Just come talk to me when you're ready."

Beomgyu didn't respond as Soobin left the building. He couldn't help but space out a lot throughout the rest of his shift, thinking about all the things Kai could have possibly done to Yeonjun. These thoughts began to make Beomgyu grow more and more angry that this happened, but he still didn't understand why.

If Beomgyu ever saw Kai, he wouldn't hesitate to wipe that smirk off his face for hurting Yeonjun like that.

Beomgyu let out a long sigh as a new customer walked in. He just needs to push away these irrational thoughts and focus on himself.
