Valadel Rising

Dearest readers, 

I am excited to share with you that I have begun my long looming project of rewriting Valadel, a passion project, and writing endeavor I've had on the back burner for years now. Valadel Rising is currently the working title for the rewrite, but I'll probably simply title it Valadel when it's complete. I've been sitting on the story for a while, allowing it to simmer in my brain, grow ripe from life experiences, and reach a maturation that I'd be comfortable writing in ink and professionally publishing. 

I don't yet have an estimation as to when the project will be complete, but it will be my primary focus after wrapping up The Kingdoms of Men, which I anticipate being completed by the end of this year. I'll write both novels in tandem with one another, but will not take on any further writing projects following the completion of The Kingdoms of Men.

The primary reason for this rewrite is twofold; one, my writing style and prose have improved dramatically since I first wrote Valadel roughly 9 years ago (I was 16 at the time). I strongly feel I can tell a better and more realized story this time. Secondly, I've had some...story ideas that demand a rewrite, as the future of this series strongly depends on the seeds I plant within the first, and must do so now before I get too deep into the end. I won't share the details, but I promise you it is juicy. 

To tide you over and give you an example of what this story can really be, I'll upload the first three chapters I've written thus far to give you an idea of the tone and style of the rewrite. The big story beats will be there but will be done better. Certain characters will go on different journeys than they did in the original draft, subplots will be added to flesh out character motivations, and everything will just be...well, better. Please enjoy the chapters I've provided, and I can't wait to share the final version of the events that transpired within the Kingdom they called...VALADEL.
