Runa figured it was a good day to get outside and play with Cookie, so after getting a ball for her, she threw it far and watched as Cookie sped after it and it made the woman feel content as she laughed at her silly dog who came speeding back to give her the toy again. She felt like a little girl again, the girl that always wanted a furry companion and she wondered how in the world Jungkook ever convinced her father to allow this.

But she knew it wouldn't take much considering how persuasive the bodyguard was, and now that she was smiling and looking into Cookie's beady eyes while petting her, it hit her at that moment. The only possible reason why her father never let her get a dog even when that was the only thing she ever asked for. He wanted her to be alone, he wanted to deny her of something that she wanted just for the sake of holding power over her.

Just the thought of her father doing that made her feel gloomy, but that was quickly replaced with a sheepish grin when her not-so-secret crush walked over and bent down to pet the Doberman who eagerly accepted the affection. She felt the brush of his coat against her, and it seriously wasn't that big of a deal but he was close, so close and her heart wouldn't stop pounding in her ears.

The inhales of breath did nothing to calm her down, and she knew she was in deep because why exactly was she getting so worked up just by his presence? It's like his energy sucked her in, making her want more, and to hide her embarrassment, she of course resorts to small talk.

"It's a nice day, I figured it would be good to get outside. You know...clear my head and all", she stands up and Jungkook does too, and he watches as she throws the ball quite far and Cookie zooms after it.

"It is. I know you must be thinking a lot about your mother and what Dori said. In my experience, there is always some truth in the lies. I know it's upsetting to think about, especially considering who lives in the same residence as us, but from now on we keep things away from your father."

She glanced over at him, relieved to hear he agreed with her and could see what she was hiding. Dori got to her head, she hated to admit it but it was understandable considering how desperate she was to learn anything about her mother. She quickly grabs the ball from Cookie when she returns and throws it once again.

"Yeah, I don't want him to know that I'm investigating him and his past. I just...it's hard to process. I've never even known the woman but I miss her so much. I wonder every day what it would be like if she was alive. Would we get along? What would her relationship with my dad be like? I wonder every day and I'm tired. I want answers."

Jungkook nods, standing close beside her as she throws the ball again and it bounces in the grass from a distance. He's never thought about his parents much, but somehow he could feel what she felt. The not knowing was killing her and what made things scarier was the fact that possible enemies knew more of her family than she did. Information was everything in this business and without it, you were weak. And she hated feeling like that.

"I'll help you in any way I can. I don't know how specifically, but I will. You deserve the truth and your father needs to be put in his place. If Dori is right about him, we leave immediately and make sure your father doesn't know."

She frowns, wondering why he made such a drastic suggestion, "Leave? What do you mean?"

Jungkook turns to her and she can tell how serious he is about this from his eyes and the crease between his scrunched eyebrows. And of course, at such a wrong time, she gets stuck staring at him and how he glows in the sunshine that hits his face at the perfect angle.

His eyes looked like pools of honey, his hair still as black as the trenchcoat that covered his body and his skin looked only a few shades lighter than caramel. She didn't even realize it until he spoke up again, but other than the sun beaming down on them, her face was hot and she was a bit breathless. My god, how embarrassing.Luckily he paid no attention to her gawking as he spoke.
