"So, is someone going to talk?"

The trio currently sat on one of the couches in the meeting room, Dong-Wook sitting across from them with his arms folded across his chest and an expectant look on his face. Runa sat in the middle, Yoongi silently seething to the left with plenty of space between them, and Jungkook was relaxed.

Upon the remaining silence, Dong-Wook caught her gaze before he raised a brow, urging her to say something because Jungkook wasn't going to and Yoongi was in his head about the situation.

"Alright, we were at Taehyung's cabin looking around for evidence proving he's involved with Dori and his new partner."

Hearing that made the underboss lean forward with intent, "Are you serious? And let me guess, this was Yoongi's idea?"

The male finally snapped into reality and gave a cut look towards the older male who glared back intensely. He could see the frustration in his eyes, so he knew they didn't find anything.

"That was incredibly stupid and dangerous. The fact that you three are alive and unscathed indicates he wasn't there, but what if he was?"

"That was kind of the point. We wanted to talk to him away from prying eyes", Yoongi sarcastically replies, making the underboss raise his eyebrows from the sassy tone.

"Looks like things didn't go according to plan."

"Clearly", the white-haired man mumbled, looking away and sighing as he rested his head on his fist, his arm propped up on the arm of the couch.

"Why did nobody say anything to me? I should've been there in case anything happened", Dong-Wook directed his statement towards Runa and she looked back at him, seeing the disappointment in his eyes but she was too in her head worrying about Taehyung to concern herself about his feelings towards this.

"We can handle ourselves. And it would've been even more suspicious if someone saw you leaving with us. That would raise questions and we have enough of those already."

The older male groans softly, running his hands through his hair with an exasperated sigh. He looked exhausted, whether or not he was worried about Taehyung being a possible traitor to the plan or her running around with her ex-boyfriend, it caused an ache in his brain. Too much thinking and not enough alcohol to drown it all.

"Next time you decide to leave, I'd like for it to be known so someone knows where you are in case you get killed or kidnapped. Understood?", he states firmly, leaving no room for arguments and Runa nods slightly.

"Got it."

"Alright, get out of my sight. I'm tired and you're lucky I won't be telling your father about this", the man says while standing up and smoothing down his suit.

That makes her eyes roll as she does the same and fluffs up the bottom of her flowing dress to fix it, "It's not like he'd care anyway."

Yoongi takes the cue to quickly leave without saying anything further and Jungkook follows Runa into her room where she takes off her jewelry and sets out her pajamas for the night.

"Tired?", Jungkook asks while watching her sit down and rest her head in her hands.

"Tired and annoyed. It was such a waste of time and...I got my hopes up for nothing and I regret doing so. The void of disappointment is trying to swallow me hole and I refuse to go back downstairs and occupy anyone else's time. I need to rest, it's already late so the guests should be leaving soon."

Jungkook had a feeling something else was going on, from that calculating look in her eyes he could tell there was a plan brewing in that restless mind of hers so he pretended to believe the lie. For now.
