Chapter 2

Savannah's POV

Work was a bit hectic today, we all had our hands full. I barely had a chance to see Alex, I caught glimpses of him here and there but neither of us said anything to each other asides the occasional nod because Tony and 5 other employees were there.

Right now we were on lunch break and I decided to go check on him at his cabinet.

I walk out of my cabinet and make my way over to his, I knock lightly and hear a faint come in.

I open the door to be greeted with a messy looking Alex, his hair was in a mess, his suit jacket was flung on the couch sitting at the corner of his office and the first two buttons of his shirt were undone, his eyes looked tired making the brown a shade darker.

I must say he looks attractive just sitting there exhausted
He looked up and our eyes met, his face instantly breaking into a smile.

"Heyy" I muttered and walked forward

"Hey babe, come here" he gestured for me to go over to his side

I made my way to him and his hands instantly found it's way to my waist as he pulled me closer to him, his head resting between my torso and above my chest area.

"I'm sorry we didn't see much today, it's been a busy day with the new contract signing and all" he said a bit muffled.

I just nodded and gently massaged his head with my fingers.
"It's fine, I came to invite you for lunch"

He raised his eyes to meet mine "where"?

"I don't know, maybe the cafeteria or we could just have someone bring it up for us here in your cabinet" I said going over to sit on the couch but he was quick to pull me back so I landed on his legs.

"I think I like the latter better" his face was buried in my chest

"Alex let go" he just hummed and didn't budge
"Someone will see us" this time his head shot up

"Are you scared of someone seeing us" he asked a bit hurt from what I could tell.

"No it's not that, I'm not scared of anyone seeing us, it's just I don't know if it's such a good idea for Anyone to see us now especially Tony" I explain

"What do you mean to see us now"? He asked raising an eyebrow

"Alex a lot employers here and maybe a few clients know us as brother and sister, and seeing us like this might spike a rumor of some sort. I wouldn't want Tony hearing about it from an outsider or worse mom and dad getting winds of it"

"So what do you suggest we do? We keep it a secret" this time he seems a bit angry

"No not that, I just think it's best they hear it from us than finding out" this time my hands made their way into his hair

He breathes out before responding "fine Savvy we're gonna tell the whole family tonight"

I definitely wasn't expecting that, I mean it's a good thing but I'm scared shitless.
He notices my countenance and he gives me a kiss on the forehead.

"Hey it's gonna be okay"

"What if they're against it"? I asked voicing out my fears.

"Babe let's be positive okay, I don't think they'll be against it, don't take this the wrong way but it's not like we're actually brother and sister" he gets up and I follow suit.

"Come on let's go have that lunch break okay, you need to clear your head a bit" he puts his hands on my lower back and guides me out of his cabinet.

Its past 6 and we're all back at the family mansion, Alex and I intend to drop the bomb tonight. The whole family is here, Mom and Dad, Tony, Samuel and finally Alex and I.

Samuel is also their brother, which makes him my foster younger brother. He's the last child. Just 18 years old.

Everyone is seated in the large living room each engaged in their own little conversation.
Alex gives me a look and I return with a small smile letting him know I'm ready.

He clears his throat and that seems to catch almost everyone's attention except for Samuel tho who's still typing away on his phone.

"I have something I need to tell you guys" he say and his eyes instantly meets mine. My nerves are all over the place.

It's not helping that everyone is eerily quiet and paying full attention.

"Actually we have something we want to tell you guys" he repeats this time making sure to include me in the conversation.

He open his mouth to speak but this time his mom beats him to it.

"You are seeing Savannah" she questions more like states.

My head quickly whips to her direction and if not for reflexes I would have given myself a whiplash.

The whole room goes more quiet than it already was as if that's possible, my gaze leaves hers and lands on dad he has this neutral expression on, my eyes trail further to Samuel and he has this smug smile and look that says 'took you long enough' and my eyes finally lands on Tony.

His jaw is slightly clenched and so are his fist. He has a very unreadable expression on that makes it difficult to know what he's thinking.

I move my eyes to Alex and he just gives me a re-assurring nod that say 'everything will be fine'

I wait for the yelling and disappointing looks and snickers but nothing comes, I raise my head and my eyes finds mom's again but this time she has a full blown smile on her face. Which makes me release a breath u didn't think I was holding.

"We know honey, I mean what kind of parents will we be if we didn't notice the attraction between the both of you" mom says with a smile

I hear a throat clearing and I look in the direction of Tony to see him with a smile of his own
"Congratulations you too" he says getting up and heading upstairs.

Tho something doesn't feel right but I just brush it off and dive into the conversation with mom asking about how the whole Alex and I thing happened.

What do you think is wrong with Tony.
