Remember Me - Gummy

Spring in 1998

Mrs Lee pushed through the crowd, her left hand pulling her daughter tight, as she ran through the ocean of griefing people left and right. She couldn't care less. Her face was soaked with tears, and all she could think of was to get on the first row and got to be the first one to meet the helicopter.

As soon as she reached her destination, she could felt the dread in her chest, as she clasped her hand there. She wasn't even ready to look at her daughter. She knew the girl would show no emotion, but it hurts to see her face, knowing what had happened.

The helicopter arrived.

The helicopter carrying the victims from the plane crash near Sea Of Japan.

Mrs Lee rushed as soon as a teenager was placed on the stretcher, drenched with blood all over his body. There was a backpack placed on his stomach, with a pink carnation keychain on one of the zipper. Mrs Lee fell on her knees, helding in her tears as her shoulder flinched at the sight of the boy. The boy she took care for a year, a boy she spent her times with. The boy who love the same thing as she love, her daughter.

"MY SON!" She yelled, unconsciously letting go of her daughter's hand and threw her arms around the boy's waist. Her face burried on his blooded chest covered with his white shirt. She cried, letting every emotion escaped her body. The seasons spent with the lovely boy flashed in her mind, as if it wasn't enough to cherish.

That was when she heard a loud cry from behind her. A yell, a scream. Overwhelming to the point the crowd went silent and just stared at the source of the cry. When Mrs lee turned around, it was her daughter.

The emotionless girl was crying and screaming while looking at the boy, who still had his eyes shut, heart that had stopped beating a while ago. The girl fell on the floor, crying her hearts out, sobbing and screaming in the centre of the crowd. She crawled to him, still crying as she took a good look on the guy's face, fixing his hair with her fragile hand, moving gently, as if she was afraid she might broke him.

"Pro... Promise. Promise. Promise." Was what she muttered. The promise they made. Was the only thing she remembered, but she held onto it so hard. The promise they made to meet again on the next spring.

He never kept his promise. He promised to bring her to the garden on spring, but instead he brought her in winter. He promised he would want to be together tomorrow too, but he told her he was leaving. He promised he would meet her on the next spring. But now it couldn't be fulfilled.

For he left her.

He told her he would take care of her.

He wasn't lying.

If he could hang on a little longer, he would. He would take care of her till his very last breath.

hey little sprout,

thank you for the mess.
