My vision, still blurred from drowsiness, slowly cleared to focus on Jasper's face. The concern in his eyes was evident, but it was mixed with something else - anger, perhaps? "Have you been hiding this all along?" he asked, a sense of betrayal clear in his voice.

Jasper's sudden appearance caught me off guard, and I quickly sat up, rubbing my eyes to make sure I wasn't dreaming. "What are you doing here?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

   "What are you doing here?!"

"That's... None of your business." I choked out an answer, looking off to the side. I didn't quite know what else to say. As I averted my gaze, I could tell Jasper was becoming increasingly agitated by my lack of openness. His face grew stern, and he crossed his arms over his chest.

"The hell do you mean by that?" He growled at me, taking a step forward, into the clearing.

"I meant exactly what I said!" I pulled myself up off the ground, and made my way over to Jasper, feeling the angel's eyes carefully watching me from her spot in the cage. I stopped a few feet in front of Jasper, feeling a shiver run through my spine as his eyes locked with mine. I noticed how I had grown a few inches taller than him. It had really been a while since we saw each other up close. It was somewhat depressing to think about, honestly. "You shouldn't be here."

"Same goes for you!" He snapped. "You've gone way too far this time, Gray! Being involved in something like this-" he gestured towards the cage. "- can get you killed!"

"How much do you actually know about all this...?" I couldn't help but ask. He did seem surprised because I was here, but showed no concern for the situation at hand. "How much do you know about her?"

"Enough to know that you have to leave, and never come back." He stated.

"Who are you to tell me what to do?!" I had no clue on what I intended to do at that moment, but I did take a leap at him.

I instantly regretted the action, though. He swung back at me, punting me back onto the ground. I had the wind knocked out of me, and took a moment to recover from the shock, a huge gasp escaping my body. I gradually pulled myself off the ground, and attempted to go at him once again.

"What the hell is wrong with you?!" Jasper snarled at me, his face twisted with fury as he grabbed my hands before they reached him. "Why've you been avoiding me? Is it because of her?! And now you're attacking me?! Are you insane?!"
