The skies are so dark right now. We are about five minutes from the house and this storm is going to hit any second.

"Are you sure you weren't sitting out here the whole time" Emily said

"I'm sure. You came out right after I got in the car" I said

"Why did Asher almost jump off the couch when I walked down stairs?" She asked

"No idea, I wasn't in there" I chuckled

"Well, something happened. He was looking at me wide eyed. He's normally calm cool and collected. Or angry" Emily laughed

"Maybe i'll tell you. If I don't loose my mind during this storm" I sighed

Pulling up to the house, we quickly un packed the car and got everything in either the house or the garage. The umbrella and such went into the garage while our clothes, and snacks we didn't eat, came into the house.

"I'm going to go get my ear buds" I said

"I'll clean this stuff up" Emily said giving me a small smile.

She knows I can't do storms. They have turned into panic attacks because I can't hear shit. The ringing will get so bad I just curl into a ball and cry. I did see a doctor, but they just told me it's damage from loud cars. No help at all. There was a girl around my age in the waiting room, she was military and some of her hearing was damaged from firearms and bombs. She said she'll put ear buds in during storms and turn the music up loud enough to drown out the thunder. It does work pretty well. Except for those loud house shaking claps of thunder but you know, better then losing my mind completely.

"Got them" I said coming back down the stairs

Both of us sat on the couch to watch tv until the small rumbles of thunder started to get loud. That's when I put in my ear buds and turned on my music. Emily watched tv until it went out due to the wind and she just played on her phone. It's 9pm, but Saturday, so we aren't really worried about getting up early. I was playing on my phone as well and just scrolling through social media. Pulling up one of the photos Emily took today, I posted it on my account and smiled to myself. I never post bikini pictures, so hopefully it doesn't attract any weirdos. My account is mostly just me at car shows and with my cars. There is a few with me and Emily as well, never posted any pictures with guys. Except for group photos with Grayson, and some have Asher in them too. Feeling my phone buzz, I looked at the notification and cocked my head to the side.

Hey, how you doing during this storm? Ears still ring?

It was from Asher, I forgot he was the first person to know about that issue. I think that was some of the best sleep I had gotten during that time. When we had woken up the next morning, nobody knew that we had slept in the same bed. They just thought I used the up stairs bathroom. I eventually told Emily, well she guessed when she learned about the thunder thing. She knew before we lived together, I stayed over her house during a storm and was crying. So I told her about it and she gave me extra pillows to use. It wasn't that bad then, I think it got worse after I graduated, out in college I had a room to myself and had gone to a doctor then. I told my mom during a holiday break since she saw the charge on her insurance. I guess I should answer Asher back.

They do, but I learned a trick to make it less sufferable

I think sufferable is a word, who knows at this point. Tapping the couch, Emily looked up and I pointed up stairs. She nodded and I laughed. I'm so glad we know what we each mean, even with out words. Yeah I know pointing to a place is easy to find out, but hey some people don't catch on to that. Getting up off the couch, I stretched and yawned at the same time almost falling back onto the couch. Looking back at my friend she laughed and I headed up stairs. Going into my room, I sat on my bed and looked around, then down at myself. I'm sleeping in this, it's comfy. Walking up to my mirror, I took a picture and sent it to Asher before turning off the light and getting under the covers. We have central air in this house and both like it cold. Laying back, I changed the song that was on and shut my eyes. I'm so ready for bed.
