I went to bed earlier than usual that night thinking of the blonde girl. I wondered what she was really like and if she could like me. I also wondered what she was interested in and if there were things we could do together that would be fun. Most of my thoughts were on just how lovely she was. I could just see her smiles, her amazing hair, and her pretty figure. She was awesome on the beach. I thought maybe she would like to swim with me. The thought of holding her close in my arms in the water in her bikini and me playing in the water with her brought smiles to my face. I soon dozed off.
Suddenly I found myself face to face with the God or death face again. It was that same old man I saw earlier with the gray hair and tired kind eyes. This time he had on a tie and a blue shirt and had a medical stethoscope across his shoulders which hung down about his neck.
I was not as afraid of him as before. He seemed familiar but yet I could not recognize him. We looked directly into each other's eyes like we were trying to talk to each other. It was pretty creepy. He never said anything. We just looked at each other.
"Cole! Wake up!", I heard my mom say. "You want to run with me and watch the sun rise this morning?"
I sat up in bed, blinked my eyes, and noticed it was still dark outside as it usually was when we started running. Mom was standing there in her short shorts and a sleeveless top, looking as hot as ever. She looked at me wanting an answer.
"Sure, mom.", I said. "But lets not do it so long this morning. I don't feel as motivated today.
"Okay, well we will just do a five miler this morning, alright?", she asked.
"Yes, that's fine", I said
Mom left the room, so I then got up and got dressed in my running gear. I just kept thinking about the blonde girl though. I hoped she would be on the bus this morning.
It did not take long to do the run, and I was glad I did it. I did enjoy seeing the sun rise, and I liked running with mom. Things were different this time, though. Afterwards my mom asked me if something was wrong because I seemed a bit quiet and distracted. I lied and said nothing was wrong, but it was really that blonde that was in my head. I wanted to know all about her but at the same time was really worried that she might not like me.
I got ready for school, took my shower including my extra step of preparation, got dressed and quickly ate breakfast and headed out to the bus stop. The same usual kids were there. Nobody talked to anyone.
The bus arrived and as I entered it I swallowed hard. I wondered if the girl would be there and if my reaction to her would be the same.
Almost instantly I saw her. She was reading again, but this time from a book with a different colored cover. God, she looked amazing to me! She was wearing a jeans vest over a yellow top that morning, and had a little silver neckless. Her dirty blonde hair spilled all around in amazing waves and curls. She was adorable. I could not take my eyes off of her. Suddenly, without warning, she looked up and caught me eyes! For an instant we sort of connected, but I got scared and looked away. I was thinking that I must have looked at her too long and she felt it and that is why she looked up at me. I sat down a few rows behind her. I did not want to be too far back in the bus because I needed to follow her to see where her home room was.
