12: Library

(Nico's P.O.V.)

"Hey, Will!" I called from the apartments kitchen.

"Yeah?"

"Can we go to the library? Since you're going on that trip for your work, I'm not going to have anything to do."

"Okay, let's go," Will appeared in the kitchen. 

We got into the car, and Will put his hand on mine as he drove.

Once we finally got there, I rushed to the fantasy section. I picked out at least 25 books.

"Are you out of your mind?" Will asked. "You are still going to have to go to work. You're not going to have enough time to read all of that."

"You doubt my reading skills. I will read all of these books," I said.

Will groaned. "Why do you have to be so stubborn? Come on, let's go check out the books."

I smiled, satisfied. I knew I would finish all of the books.

Once we checked out, Will drove us to the coffee shop around the corner. 

Will smiled at me when we sat down. "I bet you $40 you won't be able to read all of those books while I'm gone."

"How about 80?" I asked.

"Deal."

We drove home and I enjoyed the last night Will would be gone. When Will claimed it was time to go to bed, I asked, "Will, do you have to leave? I'm going to miss you."

"I know, I'll miss you too. But you know we need the money. I heard the owners of our apartment were going to raise the rent. We're already broke is it is."

"But do you have to leave for 2 whole weeks?"

"Nico," Will said. "I don't want to leave, but we need it. I promise I will come home and we will make up the 2 weeks by spending a lot of time together."

I nodded. "Thanks Will."

Eventually, I fell asleep. I woke up to Will shuffling around, getting ready for work. 

"I thought I was coming with you to the airport," I said.

"Yeah, but you were sleeping so peacefully, and I didn't want to wake you." 

"That didn't work. You're so loud that you can wake anyone up."

I got dressed and walked with Will out to the car. We drove there in silence, just enjoying each others company. 

When we got to the airport, I took my hand into Wills. We walked to the area where Will would be boarding in a few minutes. 

I looked into Will's eyes. His beautiful eyes that I wouldn't see in 2 weeks.

"If you are flying to Kentucky, you need to board now," the speaker said.

"Bye, Nico. I love you and I will call you every night," Will said.

I stood on my tiptoes and kissed him.

"Bye, see you soon," I said. 

Will stepped away, and I watched him until he disappeared.

I walked to the car, and drove home. I opened the first book, and started to read.
