(Will's P.O.V.)
Nico had just left me for the three days of the infirmary. He has improved since he walked into the infirmary. He wasn't so pale, but still paler than normal. He's actually eating more than a McDonalds happy meal once a week and a few pomegranates.
But I didn't want him to stop eating all together, so I went to get him once the breakfast horn blew.
I knocked on his door, and it opened letting me see a still asleep Nico.
"What?" He snapped.
"You are going to miss breakfast," I said.
"I'll eat lunch later."
"You're eating breakfast, doctors orders."
"Fine."
I dragged him to the Apollo table.
"Why do I have to eat with you. I'm not a patient anymore," Nico grumbled.
"I need to make sure you're eating enough."
We sat down and Austin waved at us.
"It looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed today," Austin teased Nico.
Nico looked like he was about to summon skeletons to chase Austin around.
"Nico, no underworld-y magic," I said.
Nico slumped back in his chair. He grabbed a pomegranate, took a bite, then got up.
"Where do you think you're going?" I asked.
"Back to bed."
"You have to eat more than that," I argued.
He finished eating the pomegranate. "Now can I go?" He mumbled.
"Fine, but you have to eat a meal at lunch."
He walked off. I finished eating my lunch and went to we work at the infirmary.
After the lunch horn blew, I walked over to the Hades cabin.
"Come in," Nico grumbled from inside.
I opened the door and found most of the room was black except for the red mattresses in the, coffin beds?
Nico laughed. "I see you like my vampire cave. Whoever designed this must have really stuck to the idea that Hades kids were vampires."
"How a about this. You eat full meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the rest of the month, I'll help you redecorate your cabin," I offered.
"Okay," Nico said.
"I'll go call the Athena kids right now."
I walked off, proud with the deal I made.
Once I knocked on the cabin door, Annabeth opened it.
"Can the Athena cabin help redecorate the Hades cabin?" I asked.
"Sure. But why are you asking? Shouldn't Nico be asking?"
"I made a deal with him."
Annabeth went inside to get her half siblings to help. They immediately agreed then walked over to the Hades cabin.
Annabeth and Malcom stood together, planning what they needed, then asked Nico some questions. After that, they gave us a list.
"We need you to go to IKEA snd get this supplies. There should be enough money in that envelope."
Nico grabbed my hand, then shadow traveled us to IKEA!
"Nico, what are you doing?!" I yelled.
Nico went to sleep from the exhaustion of shadow traveling.
I groaned, then checked if he was still alive. He was, just like I thought.
I waited there, until he woke up an hour later!
"Hey Will," he said. "I thought I was prepared to shadow travel again."
"We are taking the bus back."
He nodded, then we walked inside. I held the list, and told Nico that we have to go to the bed section first.
Nico picked out a bed that he liked, and we got a few.
"Nico, how are we going to get this back since you shadow traveled us here?"
"I'll shadow travel us back."
"Nico, you could die from shadow traveling so much."
"I know Will! You don't think that I'm scared of fading into the shadows? You don't think that I'm terrified if I can't stay solid?" Nico was crying softly now. "Will, I'm scared."
I hugged him, and this time he didn't push away.
Nico stood up. "Forget that this had ever happened," he said, his voice still wavering.
So I did the only thing that seemed smart. "No," I replied. "I will not just forget that this happened. Nico, you might not think it, but I care about you. I'm not going to forget, because this is hurting you more than you let on."
Nico folded his arms across his chest. "Since when do you care about me? I'm a son of Hades, and people fear me. No one cares about me."
"So many people care about you. I do, Reyna, coach hedge, Jason, Piper, Annabeth, Percy, Hazel, Frank, and even Leo care about you. That's just the short list. There are so many people that care about you."
Nico stood there, silent. We continued to shop. After about an hour, we paid.
Then, Nico grabbed my hand, grabbed the ginormous box that we had everything fit into, and shadow traveled.
Once we stepped out of the shadows, I was not happy, but earlier I had agreed that this was the only way.
Once the Athena cabin got to work, Nico pulled me aside.
"You care about me?" He asked.
"Oh my gods, Nico. Of course I do. You are smart, good with swords, handsome- and I just said that out loud," my face probably looked like a strawberry.
"You think I'm handsome?" Nico smiled.
"Yes! And Nico I'm in love with you!" I clamped my hand over my mouth to late.
Nico, was stunned. He walked up to me, and I expected to be slapped. Instead, he pressed his lips to mine.
He pulled away after a minute. "I am too."
Jason appeared from behind a bush. "I knew it! I've been shipping you two together since, 9 months ago!"
Nico was flustered. Then he shooed off Jason, and kissed me again. It was perfect.
