Alex's POV

I walked into the station to find everyone quite excited running up and down

"hey" I asked confusedly at Vic

"hey" she said as she handed me some package

"what's going on?" I asked

"wild fires" she smiled "smokey crazy wild fires" she smiled

"oh well" I said "that's...."

"amazing" she said "you can say it"

I chuckled as I nodded and we all jogged over to the barn where Maya was

"alright everyone we're leaving in 20. We gotta take over for the station who was there last night" she said "come on come on!"

After setting everything ready we made our way to the trucks and drove off

"so how wild are we talking about?" asked Travis over the headphones

"wild" answered Maya

"did you have wild fires in Chicago?" asked Jack and I chuckled

"you know Chicago is a city right?" I smiled "not a Tupperware"

"as you say so" he said and I rolled my eyes

I was planning on clearing everything with my sister today. Yet right now with the whole stress situation it didn't really seem the perfect timing.

After a couple minutes we made it to the outside of the city and we were standing in front of the giant fire pit

"oh my goodness" said Vic as she hopped off after me

"crazy" I said we suited up

"alright everyone. I want everyone paired up" said Maya "I don't want any of you in there on your own clear?" she said and we all nodded as we paired up "use your radios and do not go far away from your team" she said "I want updates"

After some minutes we were heading towards the fire

"ready?" asked Jack and I nodded following him closely "remember we're not search and rescue" he said "if you hear or see someone remember rescue team is behind us"

"copy" I said as I picked up my pace holding the hose as we turned it on as I squeezed his hand.

"hold tight" he smiled as the hose pulled us back with all the pressure

Carina's POV

"hey" I said as I walked into the attending room to find Miranda and Jo watching the news

"I don't think you'll want to see it" said Miranda as I looked at the news to see the fire in the woods

"I really don't" I said "uh I hate that now it is two of them" I said

"I know" said Miranda "Ben was on Aid team but I can't avoid to get nervous"

"Alex was on aid team last week" said Jo knowing her roommates schedule correctly

"I can't look at this" I said pouring coffee

"they'll be okay, they're the best and Maya's got them" said Jo and I nodded trying to self convince me

"hey" said Amelia as she walked in "woah" she said as she looked at the news "Is Maya there?" she asked and I nodded

"Maya and Aless" I said holding my head and I saw how her face suddenly dropped "Amelia?" I asked

"uh..." she said "sorry yeah, I was just thinking about a friend who lives close by to the fire" she said as she quickly excused herself out of the room
