Carina's POV
Alex had left a while ago and Maya and I were getting ready for bed

"Don't you think it was a bit weird ?" I asked as I climbed into her

"What?" She asked

"How she reacted?" I said "you know when I asked her about her relationship or friendships in Chicago?"

"I... I don't know car" she said "fire stations are usually not as close as ours is" she explained "I wouldn't be that surprised"

"Yeah maybe" I said

"You don't buy that do you?" She asked and I shook my head

"I know my sister Maya and it's just. I don't know seems different from what you're saying" I said

Alex's POV
"Hey" smiled Jo from the couch as I walked in

"Hey" I said walking over kicking off my shoes

"How did it go?" She asked and I shrugged

"It was nice you know just dinner" I said

"Just dinner?" She asked and I nodded as she looked at me once again

"Just hate when she knows me better than myself" I said as I climbed on the sofa next to her as she threw another blanket over me

"Is your work friend coming over?" She asked and I shook my head

"I'm not quite feeling like it" I said "I think I just want to be a bit on my own with my roommate" I smiled

"That's good. Some alone chilling time, you need it" she nodded

"Can I ask you something?" I asked

"Sure" she said as she paused the movie "is everything alright"

"It's more like a hypothetical question" I said

"Alright" she nodded "fire away"

"You know when uhm you know you should tell someone about something cause you know how worse it'd be for them to figure out without you you telling" I said

"Yeah" she nodded "how big something are we talking about?" She asked and I shrugged

"Just...I don't know" I said

"Do they need to know?" She asked "should someone know ?"

"I don't know" I said "I guess so" I nodded

"Okay" she said "I'm not asking to tell me and I'm not saying you need to do it right now, I'm saying try and think about it, go over it and get ready to talk"

I nodded as I leaned back on the couch trying to think about what she said

There was a minute of silence until I breathed out

"I'm afraid they'll look at me different" I said and she turned to me

"Hey" she said turning off the TV "I know your sister wouldn't ever look at you different for something"

"I'm not sure about that" I said

"Hey no no" she said "your sister loves you and she wants the best for you. I'm 100% sure whatever you need to tell her won't make her look at you different"

"Not intentionally" I said "just people tend to look different at you went they know stuff"

"I know" she nodded "I'm just trying to say try and trust people who love you okay? Friends family we're here for you, step at a time and whatever pace you need. But we're here for you"
