28- Hospitals and overnights

"Jesus fucking Christ" is the only think Seth can say.

"OH MY GOD IZZY" Colby lunges forward and grabs the girl who's barely conscious, covered in blood and tied to a chair.

The whole group is in tears as Brennen and Tara help untie Izzy while Colby is trying to get her to wake up.

"Izzy baby come on" he's holding her head in her hands.

"Baby come on wake up" he says and can feel the tears streaming down his face.

After she's untied, he picks her up bridal style and they run to the car, one group stays and waits for police while the other rushes to the hospital.

Tara is in the backseat holding Izzy's head as she's laid in the back seat. Sam and Colby in the front and Kat at her feet.

They finally pull up to the hospital and Colby picks her up again and rushes into the emergency room.

"I NEED HELP PLEASE! SHE'S BLEEDING, IT'S BAD! PLEASE I NEED HELP!" He screams as nurses and doctors rush over to him.

"I NEED A GURNEY NOW!" A doctor screams as they place her down and run into an operating room, Colby following behind before a nurse stops him.

"Sir, I'm sorry but you can't go back there" she says.

"Is she gonna be okay?" Is all he can say before the tears get worse.

"They're gonna do everything they can" the nurse says "come on you can wait in the waiting room. Is there anyone we can call? Does she have any family?"

"No, I'm all she has" he looks up at the lady who nods her head.

"Here, just fill out all the information that you can, then bring the clipboard up to me" she hands the boy a clip board with a few pieces of paper and a pen.

He walks out to the waiting room and sees Sam, Tara and Kat.

"They took her into the OR, I don't know what's happening" Colby says sitting beside the rest of the group.

After a few hours the other half of their group shows up. Luckily it's a small town and the hospital is pretty empty, so they can all sit down.

Nobody says anything for a few hours before the doctor comes out.

"Who's here for Isabella Heyward?" The man says.

"We all are" Sam says and the group walks over to the man.

"Okay, well Isabella suffered from cracked skull, 3 broken ribs a broken ankle and multiple stab wounds to her abdomen.  We had to remove one of her kidneys as one of the stab wounds punctured her kidney. She did lose a lot of blood but she's okay. It's a miracle that she's alive. You got her here just in time" the doctor explains.

"So she's gonna be okay?" Colby says.

"She's still asleep right now but she seems like she's gonna make a full recovery. She'll need a lot of physical therapy but I'm sure she'll wake up soon. She's a tough girl" he smiles at us.

Everyone in the group lets out a breath they didn't even realize they were holding.

"When can we see her?" Tara asks.

"You can go now, like I said she's asleep right now, but your more than welcome to wait. Usually we only slow 2 people but it's a pretty calm night. You can all wait with her" the doctor leads the group to the hospital room. Luckily she has a private room so everyone has space in there for now.

"Oh my god" Kat says as she looks at the sleeping girl who's covered in bandages and hooked up to a machine.

The group all stands and/or sits down next to her bed.

A few hours goes by before anyone says anything. The group is all starting to get sleepy as they sit on the chairs and the extra bed in the room.

Half of the group decide to go home and wait for her to wake up.

It's about 15 hours later before Izzy finally wakes up.

"Wow, you guys look like shit" everyone looks up at Izzy who is looking around at everyone.

The group lets out a relived laugh and look at the girl with a smile.

"Jesus Christ Izzy, you scared the shit out of us" Colby says and kisses her forehead, tears freely flowing down his face.

"I'm okay, Baby, you found me" she smiled at the raven haired boy.

The group all look at the girl so relived that she's okay.

They spend the next few minutes talking about how she's feeling.

"Wait?! Where's Carter?" She suddenly says getting really anxious.

"Baby, he's in jail and his name isn't Carter? He didn't tell you?" Colby says.

"What do you mean?" She looks at the boy shocked.

"You don't know?" Sam asks shocked.

"Don't know what? He barely said anything the whole time I was there? Every time he came in, it was just to give me some food and beat the crap outta me but he never told me why he was doing it. I was so scared. I never understood what he was doing it all for" she said tears pouring from her eyes.

"Izzy, his name wasn't Carter. His name was Aaron Xavier" Devyn says looking up at the girl.

"Aaron Xavier. Oh my god?" She starts connecting the dots "wait no, no. No, why would he do this? What the hell? I barely even knew him, he went to boarding school when we were all so little. I don't understand why he would do this to me?" The tears are now over flowing from her eyes.

The whole group starts explaining to Izzy what he was doing and why he was doing it.

By the end Izzy is just sitting there staring at her hands.

"Wow.. so you think Taylor's involved?" she says shocked and heartbroken.

"That's what it looks like, hun" Tara says holding her other hand since Colby hasn't let go of the other since they walked in here.

"I don't believe it. She wouldn't do that to me? Would she?" You can see the tears still in her eyes.

"We don't know, but Iz? Is there any reason you can think that she'd want to hurt you?" Sam says softly sitting at the foot of the bed.

"No, I don't think so?"

"Hey, we're gonna figure it out. I'm sure Aaron will spill. Okay?" Colby said trying to calm the girl down.

"Ya... I guess" Izzy says.

1 WEEK LATER

Colby

It was finally time for Izzy to get out of the hospital.

She was recovering great but I still worried about her. Especially her mental health.

I didn't know how well she'd be able to function after all that she's gone through.

"You ready?" I ask when she walks out of the bathroom with sweater and sweats on. She's got a cast on her ankle and crutches.

"Uh ya, I think so?" She smiles.

"Well here you go ma'am" I say and push the wheelchair over to her.

"Well thank you kind sir" she smiles and sits down.

"Alright let's get you a decent meal and bring you home" we laugh and head out to the car.

I open the passenger door and lift her up bridal style and plop her into the seat.

"Alright your choice? Where are we eating?" I smile and look over at my girl.
