staring outside the obscured windows of the pitch black limousine, haeun smiled to herself as she tightened her grip on the cute box he gave her before leaving for italy. there was a cinnamoroll post card resting on top of it with a small handwritten note inside it, and she got to notice how cute his handwriting looks.
she looked down at the pack before holding back the grin spreading on her doll-like features from ear to ear. he looked so cute all flustered, she can't lie about it.
there's been something about him, about his warm smile, his mesmerizing eyes, his soft yet defined lips, his round cheeks and how they adorned with two dimples whenever he flashed her that delicate grin of his, that just drives her crazy at times.
the problem is that the hate she feels for his goody-two-shoes personality is slowly fading.
"haeun," her mother snapped her out of her small jungwon appreciation moment, wearing her usual smile as she placed her hand over her daughter's that was resting on her thigh. "i'm really sorry to tell you this, but me and your dad will not be able to enjoy this vacation as we suddenly got a call from our client who's in italy, and he needs our help."
the soft smile on haeun's lips quickly slipped away and a sigh rapidly followed, breaking the eye contact she previously started with her mother to glance down at her lap in disappointment. this is not the first time it happens, and it won't be the last anyway, but it disappoints her every single time. why bother giving her false hopes if they're just gonna ditch her for work?
"but i thought we would spend some time as a family?"
"i'm really sorry dear, but it's really important. maybe next time." haeun shook her head while biting her lower lip to suppress the tears brimming her eyes, clutching the container on her lap tightly as her mother observed her actions confused. what does her mother mean by that? even the walls know that there's never gonna be a next time since they're always working.
"you know there's never gonna be a next time, because you and dad are always working. all you care about are my grades, aren't they?"
"haeun, we don't want to do this too. you'll have our secretary to keep you company, so that you won't feel lonely." the girl silently tsked and crossed her arms on her chest, diverting her gaze outside as smirk of amusement curved her lips not believing they're seriously passing her to their secretary as if she was a dog.
"whatever, can you just drop me at the hotel then?"
!!
"what do you mean there's is no chemistry between you and sunoo? he literally does everything to be near you whenever he can." haeun rolled her eyes at her friend's sentence, cracking a piece of the handmade cookies jungwon gave her before she left korea and bringing it to her lips. she gets that she only wants to see her happy in a relationship after so many years of being single, but she can't force herself to like someone who's not even close to her ideal type.
"again jiwon, i don't like him and i never will. i already rejected him once so the fact that i don't feel anything for him is clear." she can't lie about the fact that jiwon has been getting on her nerves lately about how often she mentions sunoo in their conversations, despite knowing that haeun is never gonna like anyone again.
"but you can't be alone for the rest of your life! there must be someone who has piqued your interest?" the girl sighed visibly annoyed. haeun knows that right now someone piqued her interest, but even if she choose to stay alone for the rest of her life, where would the problem be?
"i don't think my love life should be your biggest problem, as you know really well that romantic shit is not my thing anymore."
"but you can't be single forever!—" haeun ended the call before she could finish her sentence as she rolled her eyes right after.
this girl can be extremely noisy sometimes and that's something she finds extremely annoying.
omg it's worse than we thought, they made her emo !!!!
