'it's not the right time' you thought, as you gazed outside the broken glass window. you placed your hand gently against your stomach. today was the day that aaron was finally going to take you somewhere safe, somewhere that you could call home. after lots of convincing, rick had finally given in.

alexandra, a civilized place where you might just get the chance of living a relatively normal life. as you approached the entrance you could hear your heart racing in your chest. filled with anticipation that you could hardly contain. aaron gave the signal and the gate swung open.

it was a strange sight. the people on the other side looked ordinary like they had never been touched by the apocalyptic world outside those walls. some of the towns folk gathered around to bear witness to the newcomers.

rick squeeze your hand, reassuring you that everything would be alright. after what happened at terminus, we were all a bit skeptical of this new happy paradise. you gave him a soft smile as the car rolled inside the gates of alexandra.

"welcome to alexandra." you heard a cheerful voice say as you stepped out of the car. as the leader of our small group, rick went off and talked to the mayor of this survivor settlement. "please don't be shy, feel free to take a look around," she called out to the remainder of us who stood near the entrance.

most of the group went off alone or with someone else. you chose to see yourself around alone. that was until you heard an oddly familiar voice call out to you."(y/n) is that you?" you immediately turned your head in the direction the voice had come from. only to see a slender man with curly light brunette hair standing there.

"holy shit, liam?" you almost thought you were hallucinating. the man standing only a few feet away was your best friend, you've known each other since high school and got separated when the world turned to shit. for him to be here, all this time was mind blowing.

"oh my gosh it really is you, you're alive after all!" he strolled up to you and embraced you in a hug. you wrapped your arms around him and rested your head on his shoulder. as you peeked over you saw rick. he was looking in your direction as he spoke to the mayor about stuff retaining to the group.

he had this look on his face that could only be described as jealousy. when he saw your orbs focused on him he adverted his gaze elsewhere. at the time you thought it was odd but didn't question it too much. soon after the hug broke and you still couldn't believe liam was alive after all this time.

"it's good to see your alright, i thought i would never see you again!" you say with a smile tugging at the corners of your lips. you were happy that the two of you were able to find each other after all that's happened in the last few years. "it's great to see that your and alive and well." he said.
