The week had been long. The day started with Yoona finding a pile of papers on her desk when she entered her office in the morning, and then she had to go through four meetings in the afternoon, and finally had to work on some more papers before she could go back home with a massive headache to take care of. Ever since Yoona was young, she had an interest in forensics. She used to read about many of the world's most heinous crimes and watched several shows about how criminals were brought to justice. It was a life long passion that she persuaded, and Yoona likes her work. Yoona likes walking into her office with a sense of purpose and likes profiling bad individuals and helping the good, and she doesn't mind the early call times or the unexpected departures.

Recently some rather strange deaths had occurred. A teenage boy was murdered in his sleep, a man was discovered frozen beneath a lake, and other bodies of younger people were discovered as old feeble corpses, among other things. She was now sitting at her bedroom desk, looking through heaps of paperwork and jotting down vital notes with her eyes narrowed in concentration.

A ringing comes from her phone and she quickly picks up, "Miss Jeon, It's Lee Soo-hyun, your lawyer. I read that you want to be divorced from Mr. Jeon Jae-jun." She cringed internally at the title he used.

"Is that right?" He repeats.

"And you don't want anything that he owns which is a good thing. The man got some solid lawyers."

"Yeah, I know that, Soo-hyun." She sighs, pinching the bridge of her nose, "but we don't have a child together so don't you think it could be easy?"

"Well, Miss Jeon-"

"Please, use my maiden name. I don't want to be associated with that bastard, please."

Yoona never thought she'd ever reach the point where she would want to divorce Jae-jun. They were high-school sweethearts, built their careers beside each other, built a home, and yet, here she was. Their marriage had its ups and downs, but whose didn't? However, never did she expect infidelity to be involved. She spent the last eighteen years of her life with him. She always knew it was going to be him. How could he do this to her?

Being with him had felt like a high she didn't want to come down from. He was so sweet. He understood how important her academics were to her and was always encouraging. Jae-jun didn't care if she was studying or not; he just wanted to be near her. She had formed an incredible bond with Jae-jun. With others, he came off as cold and harsh, but with her ─ he gave her everything she would ask for in a partner.

Now, she would try to keep herself busy and her mind off her unfaithful husband, but she couldn't help but wonder. Often times, she'd catch herself tearing up and would try to stop. When she wasn't able to, she'd excuse herself to the bathroom to let her pain out. Crying did not help, and neither was drinking. Nothing was working to help her understand why this was happening. Nothing helped her to alleviate the pain. She wanted him to hold her and let her know that everything will be alright, even though he was the one causing her pain.

"When would you be willing to go over your divorce papers?" The sound of her lawyer's voice cut her off from her thoughts.

"I'm entirely booked this week, but I could call to schedule for the next week or so." She felt her lips quivering.

"Call me if you need anything else, Miss."

"Thank you."
