Dinner rolled around. As I was putting some sauce on my spaghetti, Elyse said something that would change Alex Marc Windson's life, probably.

"Alex has a girlfriend!" Elyse shouts.

"ELYSE!" I scream back, as my mother starts to scold her.

"Elyse Johannah Windson! Say you're sorry to Alex."

"Sorry Alex." Elyse then puts her pouty face on and sinks down in her seat.

"Well, Alex, since we're already on the subject, tell us about..." My dad starts off. He literally forgot her name.

"Aurielle, dad. And she's just my friend." I say to the whole table.

"That's not what the journal said, Mr. Glitter Hearts." Can my dad ever stop with the jokes?

"You still have my glitter heart sticker? I want it back!" Elyse shoots back up in her seat.

"Fine, I think of her as more than a friend. But she more than likely doesn't think the same about me." I stuff my mouth with a meatball.

"What's Aurielle's last name, sweetie? And you never know, Alex. You're a perfectly kind boy." My mom's embarassing too. It's Alex, not Sweetie.

"Kanfold. And 'kind' doesn't cut it in school."

"Ugly ain't cutting it either..." Elyse cut in again. She got sent to her room.

"Oh, Aurielle's mom cuts our hair!" WAIT, HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS? "That reminds me, we're getting our hair cuts tomorrow, and Aurielle is with her mom on the weekends. Do you want me to call Angela and ask if she can bring in Aurielle tomorrow? We could drive her home, or you guys could hang out." Is my mom really supporting me with this? That's a shocker.

"You don't have to...I mean, it would be nice, but she doesn't have to come." My mom got up and got the house phone. She went through the contacts, and clicked on Angela.

"Well, it's ringing. Do you wanna talk or should I?" My mom asked me. I pointed to her, too in shock to answer.

"Angela? Yeah, it's Sharri. Can Aurielle come in to work with you tomorrow? Alex wants to hang out with her and we can drop her off at your house later or you could pick her up. Cool! Thanks Ang, really appreciate it. See you tomorrow!" Mom clicked off the phone then looked straight at me.

"Well, little dude, looks like you got a date."
