-Sunday September 17th-
"Feck." Alannah muttered, her Irish accent coming out thicker than usual. Looking out her bedroom window (We all slept in her room last night) she said, "It looks like the Ireland weather finally caught up to us. It's bucketing down out there." It's always raining in Ireland. This summer, we had gotten lucky with all the warm weather and sun. Usually the warmest temperatures get to be is the mid-70s (Yes Fahrenheit, I'm still American).
"Careful, your Irish is showing." I laughed. Everyone but me has an Irish accent and uses Irish slang. However, as royals, they're supposed to talk "proper" in public and around other people. Which does not include Irish slang. It's become a habit for Alannah and Declan to bite their tongue and not say Irish slang or curse words that sometimes they forget they can when we hang out. Zach tries not to use too much slang as well because his mom's British and doesn't really like some of the Irish slang terms (Which I don't really get since they are similar). I've heard Zach use British slang before when he's pissed and it is kind of funny. I picked up on some Irish slang while here and they've picked up on my American curse words. Zach has said ass instead of arse on countless occasions, and I laugh every time.
"Oh, sod off." Alannah answered, glaring at me.
"Just saying you don't have to default to public you and not say stuff like that around me. I curse in front of you three all the time." I said, voicing my thoughts.
"Alright, well be prepared for a lot more cussing now." Declan laughed. "We Irish cuss a lot."
"I know I've heard you stub your toe before." Declan turned bright red, and I decided to change the subject. "Guess we can't go have fun exploring Glin today, then." I frowned. I had actually been looking forward to going site seeing and wandering around Glin looking at all the little shops and town. Although I've lived in Ireland for about three years, I've yet to explore the whole island. Everything about Ireland is so enchanting, even when it is raining and murky outside.
"Who ever said we can go out and explore Glin?" Zach said, raising one of his eyebrows. "Don't tell me you're scared of a little rain, Summerfield."
"Me? Please." I chuckled. "I think you're more scared of rain than me, Zach."
"It's not my fault that I don't want my perfect hair drenched."
"Yes, it is you, eejit (idiot)." Alannah said, smacking Zach's shoulder.
"Okay! Well, I think we should still go out." Zach said, trying to defend himself.
"I'm going to go get ready, then." I told them. "Meet in the sitting room?"
"Sure." Alannah answered, and Declan and Zach nodded.
I left Alannah's room and walked down the hall to my bedroom. I pulled open my suitcase and looked inside. Being the always prepared person I am, I had packed clothes for all possible weather scenarios. And in Ireland having a just in case, rainy day outfit is a must. I grabbed my pair of black leggings and a plain baggy mint green t-shirt. I took my raincoat and rain boots out of my bag. My raincoat was oversized and clear, with a cute butterfly pattern on it. The coat is so large that it almost reaches my knees and the sleeves are too long for my arms. My rain boots go to about my knees and are mint green with flowers creeping up from the bottom of the boots. My coat had pockets, but I decided to bring the waterproof bag I brought, anyway. I put my phone inside along with a small umbrella I packed. The umbrella was a sage green (they didn't have emerald) color with a cartoonish tulip pattern on it. I got Alannah a similar umbrella, but her umbrella is a bright blue color with daisies. I made sure to pack my cleaning kit for my glasses in case I accidentally get smudges on the lenses if I have to clear raindrops off them.
