-Sunday December 31st (Later)-

After the whole thing earlier with Zach and Alannah, I had a few hours to mentally compose myself before the ball.

Carrie already came and did my hair, so I was just left to finish getting ready. I did my usual makeup and then slipped on my dress. I had a little trouble lacing up the back, but I managed to do it. Then I put on my gold shoes, gold necklace, and some gold bracelets. I put on the bracelet and earrings that Declan had got me for Christmas. The bracelet I have had on since Christmas. The only times I have taken it off was when I had to shower.

I looked at myself in the mirror. This dress might be better than my Christmas one. The dress was a light gold color, which was dark enough that it accented my skin and hair. The bodice was a corset bodice with a deep sweetheart neckline and two tiny straps on my left shoulder. I covered the bodice and straps in different colored flowers that worked well with the main color of the dress. The skirt of the dress flowed out from the waistline in several layers. The first layer was a shiny smooth fabric and then I added a few layers of yellow gold tulle on top. To the right side of the skirt was a slit that went up to a few inches above my knee. And the flowers from the bodice I had spilled onto the top of the skirt and flow halfway down the slit before ending. Carrie put my hair up into an elegant crown braid and left a few pieces out to frame my face. She also stuck some pink floral pins that matched my dress in the crown braid. It was a nice touch, and I liked it a lot.

I grabbed my gold clutch purse and left my room to make my way to the ballroom.

When I got to the ballroom, guests were still being announced and the only royals missing were Mr. and Mrs. Finnegan. For the New Year's Eve Ball, everyone usually wears a gold/yellow dress or black. Sometimes people will wear silver or grey.

Bridget, Owen, Rayna, and Phillip are in one corner of the room talking. Bridget's dress is a sparkly gold color. The bodice is a lace up bodice with off the shoulder sleeves. The skirt of her dress puffs out from the waistline and falls in many layers. On the bodice of the dress is an intricate gold swirl pattern which is also on the sheer top layer of the dress's skirt. The design I made to almost look like vines and leaves that were created with the swirls. The dress was very regal and very Bridget. She paired the dress with gold and black jewlery. And her hair was up in a pretty half up do with a large gold hair clip.

Rayna was wearing a simple but elegant black dress. The bodice of the dress was a lace up as well and had a subtle sweetheart neckline. The sleeves of the dress were puffy and started at the top of her shoulders and ended at about her armpit. For the bodice, it was made out of a velvety black material and the sleeves and skirt were made out of tulle. The skirt was made of many layers of black tulle, which piled on top of each other in different lengths. Rayna wore silver jewlery and had a black and silver clip in her hair which was curled and left mostly down.

Owen was wearing a gold tuxedo and a black bowtie. His hair was tamed and slicked back in a very Zach fashion. Phillip had on a black tuxedo and a sparkly gold bowtie. Once again, almost the opposite of Owen. His hair was tamed as well.

Zach, Alannah, and Declan were off to the side, and I smiled when I spotted them. Alannah was wearing a gorgeous black dress. Her dress was a lace up dress and strapless with a round neckline. The skirt of the dress was puffy and flowed down to the floor. The top layer of the skirt started out black and turned into a grayish gold color at the bottom. Both the bodice and skirt of the dress had little gold thread details which made the dress look less simple. The details on the skirt actually turned black when they reached the grayish gold part. Alannah wore gold jewlery to match the dress and had on black gloves which reached a little above her wrists. Her hair was in a pretty half up hair do. She had two small braids that wrapped around the back of her head, with some hair left out to frame her face. The rest of her hair was in elegant waves and she had a small gold tiara (which was practically a headband) on top of her head.
