-Friday October 27th-
It's been three days since we were spotted in Galway. And things have not calmed down. There have been tons of articles published about everyone. But most of the articles have been about me and Declan. We all thought that Mr. and Mrs. Finnegan were going to be pissed at us, but they were not actually that mad. None of the articles have been terrible, and we explained that we tried to blend in so we wouldn't get caught. Declan and Alannah think that someone tipped off the paparazzi, but they have no proof.
Today's the day before Bridget's birthday ball and we're all on our way to Ashton Castle. Alannah told me that the castle's quite pretty, so I'm excited. When we get there I have to alter Bridget's ballgown though, since I haven't been able to. I stayed up late last night and finished my ballgown.
Declan and I were sitting next to each other in the car and we were both reading books. I was reading a romance book I had started a few days ago, and he was reading one of his dystopian novels. I can not hide my facial expressions while reading. Every time I read something cute, my face breaks out in a smile and Alannah will shake her head as she silently laughs at me. Declan's amazing at hiding his facial expressions, so the whole time he was reading, he had a blank face. Except for his eyes, if a book made him feel some type of emotion, you could see it in his eyes.
I got to this part in my book where the characters started dancing in the rain and it made a huge smile appear on my face. I even giggled a little. Something about dancing in the rain was extremely romantic to me. Dancing and kissing in the rain was even better. Despite living in Ireland for three years, I have never danced with or kissed someone in the rain. And Ireland gets a lot of rain. But since we moved, I haven't really sought out a relationship because I've been too busy helping my family, so that would probably be why.
"What are you giggling at?" Declan whisper asked. He leaned over my shoulder to read the page I was on.
"The main characters started dancing in the rain." I said, as if that explained my giddy expression.
Declan looked at me with a puzzled expression. "I've always thought that dancing and kissing in the rain is super romantic. So it's one of my favorite things to read in books." I explained.
"Ahh. Have you ever done it?" He asked.
I shook my head. "Nope."
"Well. I'll have to change that then." Declan said, making me blush. Declan blushed a little, but not as much as me. He's become more confident and doesn't blush as often when he says things to make me blush. Butterflies erupted in my stomach and I tried to push down the feeling, reminding myself that I'm supposed to be getting rid of my feelings.
As if nothing happened, Declan turned back to his book, grinning. Alannah eyed me with a smirk on her face. Every time she smirks like that, I get the feeling that she knows something I don't.
I continued to read the rest of the drive, desperately trying to forget about what Declan said. The car pulled into the driveway in front of Ashton Castle. I grabbed my suitcase and duffel bag from the car. I was about to walk to the front door, but someone gripped the handle of my suitcase that was in my right hand.
"Let me help." Declan said, tugging my suitcase out of my hand. He was holding his duffel bag in his other hand.
"I can carry my suitcase up to the castle." I responded, trying to grab my suitcase back from him.
"Nope." He said matter-of-factly.
"Stop trying to be a gentleman. I can carry my luggage."
"I know you can," Declan smirked. "And I'm just trying to be a helpful boyfriend, so let me carry your suitcase." My heart leapt into my throat before settling back down when I realized he was just putting on a show for his parents who walked by.
