Arjun felt that there must be something that his Grandma was hiding from him. He wanted to know everything so that he could protect his family from the unknown enemies. So he spoke what was on his mind.
Arjun: "Grandma, Is there something which I need to know more?" ?.
Grandma: " Hmmm. Yes . This house in which we are living was the hard earned money of Madhav. Madhav bought another house for my daughter (Vrinda 's mom) along with some land. That house belongs to Vrinda but she can claim the rights on that house only after getting married to you. She was not supposed to sell it. This was the promise that Madhav took from me. "
Arjun: " Anything else Grandma "?.
Grandma: " Your father took a financial aid from Madhav to start his business (construction firm). Later, your father gave back the amount to Madhav along with interest. That time, Madhav was hurt. He feels that Surya is treating him like an outsider. So, he declined the amount. By my compulsion, he took it. When your father built that house(Hyderabad), Madhav gave him the money asking Surya to buy a piece of land. Your father bought a big plot and constructed that bungalow with a thought of living in a joint family. That was their dream house, and they organized a grand house warming function. Everything went well, and all of us shifted to Hyderabad. I am very happy with my children's growth and progress.
One day, when you were 9 years old and Vrinda was 5 years old, one of the kids in your school bullied Vrinda. She couldn't fight back as she was pushed from the swing. You happened to see that and got into a fight with that kid. You beat him until he was bleeding profoundly. When Surya came to know this, he apologized to the parents of the kid and the principal. But, when you guys reached home , he started to beat you. Madhav couldn't see you getting beaten by your father. He tried to convince Surya to discipline you in some other way, but Surya was not in a stable mind to listen to anyone. In order to save you from your father's warth,
Madhav took you to his room and asked you what actually happened. You narrated everything and said that you could not stay calm when Vrinda was bullied and would protect Vrinda all your life. Madhav felt you would be an ideal husband for his daughter would take care of her. So the next day, he asked Surya for a betrothal among their kids. Surya was more than happy. He loved Vrinda a lot. So he agreed without any hesitation. But ,I don't know that Madhav had something in his mind that he kept the clause on Vrinda's property. "
Arjun: " ooffff so much to digest. Is there anything left? "
Grandma: " This is what I know. Nothing else."
Arjun: " Grandma, I'm still worried that Vrinda will not agree to our marriage. I don't want to hurt her feelings. I don't know what to do?".
Grandma: "Arjun , can you imagine her getting married to someone other than you?"
That question made Arjun go numb for a second. He can never imagine someone else with Vrinda. He knew his answer was a big NO. So he shook his head in denial.
Grandma: " That's it. Nanna Arjun, I strongly believe that you will take good care of Vrinda. I have no doubt in my son- in- law's choice because he chose a gem for his daughter. You both are destined forever. But you should promise me that you will never break her heart. "
Arjun: " I promise you, Grandma, I'll never
hurt her and always stay loyal to her."
When they were engrossed in their conversation, Vrinda called them for lunch.
Arjun 's Pov:
I am blessed that my parents betrothed our marriage long back. I am thankful to mavayya that he trusted his daughter with me. I started to steal glances on Vrinda from time to time. But thinking about Vrinda's disagreement towards marriage is not making me stay at peace. At the same time, I don't want to miss her in my life. So, I went to Grandma 's room for a suggestion.
Arjun: " Grandma , can you suggest me some idea so that I can get married to Vrinda without hurting her. "
Grandma: " Why can't you tell about the promise made by her father ?"
Arjun: " No, Grandma she may agree for the marriage, but it will be out of compulsion. Let's not reveal it . I am thinking of transferring Atthyya 's house in her name. I talked to the register, telling him that we have a registration tomorrow. I booked the slot for tomorrow. "
Grandma: " Then you can apply for a marriage registration at the same time . We have all the documents and proofs required for the procedure. It will take time for the formalities to complete. Meanwhile you try to talk to her orelse we will think of some way. Don't think more. Leave it to God. He will help us. "
Arjun: "OK Grandma, I'll arrange for the procedure . You take a rest. "
Saying this he walked out of the room and started to work on his plan. On the other hand, Vrinda knew nothing about the conspiracy that her Grandma and Arjun were planning on her. She engaged herself in her artwork and other household activities.
She was worried about her job, so she drafted an email to her senior requesting him for an emergency leave. She sent her mail. To her surprise her leave was approved within a few minutes. She was happy spending her time in the village. This is the house where her parents lived for years. She felt herself connected with this house.
She wanted to go to the village temple in the evening. When she asked her Grandma , she asked Arjun to accompany her to the temple. With a grumpy face, Arjun and Vrinda made their way to the temple.
