Luz's POV:

I'm at the Owl House in the living room trying out some new glyph combos with Lilith. We were both working on combining light and Ice to see what that might do. Our main attempt tonight was just one of each. I had just finished my first attempt and was preparing to use it to see what it does.I tapped it and immediately a large flash of light happened blinding me for a bit and it was gone. "Okay flash bang good to know." I commented.

"That might be useful down the line," Lilith said. "On a side note maybe we need to use more glyphs for this, actually what are we trying to do exactly?"

"We are trying to see how many combos we can make with just ice and light," I said.

"Well it is getting late, maybe we should take a break and go to sleep," she said.

"Weh," King said as he suddenly woke up on the couch. "Yeah don't you have school tomorrow?"

"How late is it?" I asked.

"Just about 10," Hooty stretched in and said checking the watch on his tongue.

"Okay you guys have a point," I said, rubbing my eyes and walking upstairs to my bedroom.

As I got to my bedroom I tripped on a slightly loose board and fell forward with my school notebook falling out of my pocket. It was still open to the page I had written the riddles on. My lights were off, so I quickly drew a light glyph and used it to reread the riddles.

"I am the guide in the night sky," I whispered to myself while holding the light spell close to the page. Then it dawned on me, "Wait a minute!" I rushed to my window and looked out to the sky, letting the light spell float up which sparked the glyph constellation to show itself again.

"The answer to the first one isn't a star, it's the light glyph." I said then after making a new light spell I wrote that next to the first riddle. "If the first one is a glyph maybe they all are. The second riddle was "I flourish off of the land so that's the plant glyph." I wrote down. "The last riddle was, I light the world and warm you hearts so the fire glyph."

I looked down at the page and read over my solutions. I was certain that these were it but I won't know for sure until tomorrow when I can see the statue again. With that I promptly changed and snuggled up in my sleeping bag eagerly falling asleep till tomorrow.

The next day

I Woke up early and immediately started to make myself something to eat so I can get to Hexside as soon as possible. As I was preparing a gryphon egg, Eda and King came downstairs. I took a plate and went to the table so I could eat.

"You seem really excited about something?" Eda said.

"Did you figure out a new Glyph combo?" King asked, wagging his tail a bit.

"Not exactly," I said with a fork full of egg by my mouth then I took my bite. "Eda you remember the Statue of Hexside's founder in the Library?"

"Yeah it was so boring and had no information on him at all," she said, pulling her hand out to help stretch it out. "What about it?"

"Well yesterday it changed," I said after swallowing another bite. "The plaque said 'May the one who defeated Grometheus the Fear Bringer solve my riddle'. Viney and some of the other multitracks were there to witness it. Then the book he was holding became flat pages instead of like he was flipping through it. They came and found me and Amity to see if we could find this riddle and I think I solved them last night before going to sleep so I am excited to try out my solutions."

"Wow that was a mouth full," King said as I finished my plate of eggs.

"What do you think will happen if you're right?" Eda asked me.

I shrugged, "I don't know but Viney thinks that only Amity or me can answer the question." I said rinsing off my plate. "I just want to try out my solution."

"Fair enough kid, the doors do open pretty early," Eda said. "So if you really want to, I can take you to school early today."

"Thanks Eda," I said, rushing up and hugging her tightly. She pat my head and said, "No problem kiddo."

With that we flew off to Hexside on Owlbert. "Thanks Eda," I said as I hopped onto the ground.

"Now be careful kid, no telling what you'll find with this whole riddle business," She said. "I don't want you getting to hurt so message me if you need help." She held up these Bunny walkie talkies.

I took one, "I will be careful and I will call if I get into some trouble," I said.

With that I watched Eda fly off back home and I walked up to the doors of Hexside. I opened them to see little activity from the teachers and some students who had projects to work on. I made my way to the Library and the statue. I climbed up and onto the outstretched arm.

"Let's see the first riddle was, light," I said and drew the light glyph in the dust of the page that had the circle. Tapping part of an image appeared above the circle, it was a light glyph with these arms spiraling off it. "Next is a plant glyph," I drew it and more of the image appeared. Now a plant glyph was attached to the arm on the left of the light glyph and part of a circle encasing them was now visible. "Lastly fire," I drew and the fire glyph attached to the right of the light glyph

The page with the riddles on it glowed and the words changed, 'You have solved the riddles three and earned the key,' it read and the glyph combo glowed as well.

I quickly copied the glyph combo onto a sheet of paper and climbed down off of the statue, "I wonder what this does," I said. Then the plaque on the statue glowed and the words were replaced with a circle. I copied the glyph combo again and placed one of them on the new circle.

I watched as the Glyph glowed and the paper dissolved away. The Glyph remained in the circle and suddenly a circle appeared around me and I began to sink into the floor. The glyph stopped glowing and faded just as I finished sinking and the hole closed over.
