Experimentations in Curse Breaking

Cyrus POV:

          It was late in the night and Eda, Luz, King, and Hooty were all sleeping. I snuck up the stair case and grabbed a small sample of Eda's hair, "There now I should be able to get to work some," I said softly closing my door. "Shame I couldn't get some of Lilith's at the moment but this will have to do." I walked down stairs and grabbed Khrys, I created a portal and walked through to my base. 

          I pulled the box I stored the transformation samples in and walked into the next room to potions lab. I walked up to my main table and cleared off some of the stuff from my last reasearch project. This left me with a table that had a Cauldron with a stone under it with my personal Fire glyph engraved into it. There was also a beaker set and a device of my own creation that I used to help make stronger concentrations of brews. The device was simple it was designed to spin upt to four beakers around the beakers could be filled with a number of liquids and mixtures to help seperate the stuff I need from what I don't in the mixtures. I think that the human realm Might have a machine that does something similar. Mine works on a special glyph combo to work where theirs works through electricity. 

          I also pulled out the Elixer I snagged and the sample of Eda's hair I took moments ago. "Let's see," I said adding some of the elixer to one of the beakers and grabbing one of Eda's feathers with tweezers. "If it truly bind to them on a complete level as the book suggested then the Elixer should revert the feather back to a hair, I should think." I lowered the feather into the beaker and as soon as it made contact there was a plume of yellow orange smoke and the tweezers now held a clump of hair. "So interesting. I'll need a look at her bile sac or something." 

          I grabbed a book on Potions used for medical purposes, "Let's see," I said looking at the index. "Ah the Inner workings potion." I flipped to the right page, "This potion is a highly modifed version of the Scrying potion. It purpose in medical use is to allow one to look inside the body of a witch or demon, allowing one to view another beings skelatal structure or organs with out endangering the body. Yeah this should work. Ingredients are just some fire bee honey and Fairy tears. I should have that. Wait it takes a week to brew well I best get started then."

          "Okay thin half a jar of Firebee honey out in a cauldron full of nothing but fairy tears," I said filling my small cauldron with the fairy tears. I then added the still on fire fire bee honey, "Then simmer on low flame for one week, Stirring the mixture for thirty minutes a day at exactly the same time everyday. Assuming your were succesful come the last day the potion should become a viscous silver concoction and once applied to any thing will make what it touches see through to the inside of the object. Well this is going to be bothersome."

1 week later

          "So let me get this straight,"  said after Luz was done telling me about her day. "You went to school like normal and towards the end of the day you convinced Gus to give you his Library card so you could talk to amity to try and find what Philip left there. On your way to the library you and Gus ran into some glandis kids and you gave Gus some Glyphs with out makeing sure he knew which was which for sure and he went with them to look for galderstones." 

          "Yep that sounds about right." Luz said. 

          "Oh and instead of coming back from the library with a book," I said. "You brought a mouse into the house that is guarded by an owl." 

          "Yeah so what have you been up to?" She asked me. 

          "For the last week I've been working on a potion to help me with some research," I said looking away a bit.

          "What kind of research?" she asked. 

          I looked around to make sure Eda and King wern't around. "Keep quiet about it for now, I'm not posative its possible," I said "But I am trying to find away to remove Eda and Lilith's curse."

          "Really I thought it was impossible to remove it," Luz pondered aloud. 

          "Yeah well that's why I need to run some tests first," I said. 

          "What's the next test?" She asked me. 

          "I need to look ant her bile sac," I said. "When Lilith split the curse I think it should have given Eda some magic back or at the very least Lilith should still have some." 

          My scream watch went off on my wrist, "Oh the potions done" I said poking the watch. "Now I just need Eda to be asleep for a long period of time so I can investigate the Bile sac." 

          "Why not just ask her?" Luz asked. 

          "Ask me what?" Eda said walking through the front door. 

          "Purely for reaserch purposes I would like to inspect your bile sac," I said looking at Luz with an annoyed face. 

          "You want to cut my chest open?" Eda asked me.

          "No!" I shouted. "God no I made a medical potion over the course of the last week that will allow me to see into your chest."  

          "Oh, Sure why not don't know what your looking for but I'll help you out kid." Eda said. 

          "I'm way older than you," I said. 

          "Not in looks," She said. "You want me to call you something else look the right age." 

          "Whatever we'll do the exam after dinner," I said.

After Dinner

          "Okay Kid how do you want to do this," Eda asked me as we went to her room. 

          "Well the potion won't work if we apply it over cloaths so I thought you could go behind you dressing screen, or I can step out and you can apply the potion to your bare chest and I can com in and investigate that way." 

          "Sure Kid, step out side." She said and so I stepped outside and waited by the door. It was about 2 minutes later when she said. "Come on in kid." 

          I stepped into the door and looked at eda who sat on a stool with her chest see through to the organs inside. "Okay the potion is working well," I said. "Now I'm going to use some magic to manipulate your organs around a bit to get a better look at your bile sac. It will likely cause some slight discomfort  let me know if it is to uncomfortable and I'll stop." 

          "Okay Kid," she said. 

          With that I drew a spell circle and adjusted the position of her left lung. The bile sac attatched to her heart was right where it should be andeven wierder was the right size it should be. "You're posative after the petrification ceremony you were un able to learn magic?" I asked her. 

          "Yeah, why?" She asked me. 

          "Well you Bile sac looks the right size," I said. "No shrinkage, or drooping to be had. If the Curse had fully consumed you magic bile as it seems to have then one would think one or the other would have happened by now." 

          "What's that mean?" Eda asked me. 

          "You might actually have magic left," I said.  "In spades it appears."  

          "You really mean that?" She asked me. 

          "Yeah, Titan I wish I had a scroll right now." I said. "But trust me your bile sac looks very healthy, Now its just a matter of finding out why your magic might be all wonky. You try any bard magic recently?" 

          "No, I don't really like to use that after a bad memory." She said. 

          "Well if you get around to trying it at anytime please tell me how it goes." I told her, "In the mean time I'll see if I can find anything that seems similar to this. Maybe I should extract a sample of your magic biles. We can all do that another day though." 

          "Okay then," Eda said. "You know you ramble quite abit when you get into something, reminds me a lot of Luz. Oh crud that's right we need to get some shut eye kid me and you are going to Hexside tomorrow to help with Palisman adoption day."

          "Oh crud you right that is tomorrow," I said standing up fast. "You'll want to wash off the potion or it will last weeks and night Eda." I rushed out of the room and to the living room to get ready for bed.
