"You're so beautiful."
What the fuck was I thinking? We were in the middle of a fight and I can't even get through it without throwing myself at Zane, literally. I eye the medicine in the corner of my room and wonder if I should take a few pills. There's no point in lying by saying I don't have some feelings for Zane. I do, for whatever pathetic reason I do like him.
And I'm not stupid, he likes me back as well. Or if he doesn't he's going to concerningly long lengths to convince me he does. Giving up cigarettes because I don't like them?
I smile despite myself and then immediately run over to my bed and throw myself into the pillows face down. I can't handle this. I can't like Zane. We'd be terrible together, we can hardly be alone for longer than ten minutes without wanting to rip each other's heads off.
I reach for my phone and call Emery, "Is anyone having a party tonight?" I ask her.
"Jake from my fashion class is, it's an everything but clothes-themed party," Emery says down the line. I pause for a second.
Do people in America have those? I just thought that was a thing people made up in books and games. Speaking of games, I may have put my mother in serious debt spending her money on episode gems but I will never forget the day my character wore caution tape to a party like this.
Lucky for me I still have some from Halloween.
"Okay, are you going to come?"
"No I'm on my period and in a bad mood but I'll text you the address," Emery says before hanging up.
I smile, grab my straightener and start to get ready. I decide to go braless and wrap the tape around my boobs three times. Serves as a push-up bra as well as a top, though I might actually lose my nipples when it's time to take it off.
I have to cheat, so I grab a mini skirt and wrap it in the caution tape all over until it's no longer visible and I pull it on. I purse my lips as I look at myself in the mirror.
Jesus Christ...
I grab some black kitten heels and slip them on and then I grab my bag and phone and head up. Shooting a wink at our hall monitor Emily who stares at me, jaw dropped.
A short drive later I'm walking through the front door of the frat house the party is being held at. I almost go deaf from the loud music, the weekend blares on through the speakers and I eye the red strobe lights.
So it's this type of party, got it.
I hear a screech behind me and am quickly being embraced by some girls from my law class. They all compliment my outfit and I compliment theirs. Olivia is covered in only a towel and Molly wears Ivy over all of her body. It's clever considering her bright red hair.
We all head for the drinks table and start doing shot after shot until my brain feels numb and fuzzy.
I've just stepped out of the bathroom when Ben walks over to me, a grin on his face, "Juliette, I did not think this was your scene."
"I'm full of surprises," I tell him, he laughs and hugs me as we both walk into the living room. Everyone's gathered in a circle together and I shoot Ben a curious look.
"We're playing spin the bottle," He clarifies and I raise my eyebrows. Aren't we a little old for children's games?
I'd say no to participating but that was five shots ago. Current Juliette thinks it's a brilliant idea. The bottle spins a couple of times and I laugh as friends, enemies and couples kiss.
Very dramatic and very entertaining.
Before I know what's happening the head of the bottle is pointing directly at me and I look up to see Dylan smiling at me. I remember him from a couple of weeks ago. I thought he was cute and I was right.
