Ikalabing Dalawang Kabanata - Susunod na Paghaharap

I groaned when I heard my alarm clock go off. Sh!t, why do I have to go to the company early this morning? I should have been able to lie down for an hour or two, but because of Ryosuke and Kenji, I couldn't.

I sat up, sighing. Napahawak ako sa leeg ko nang maramdaman ko na naman ang pamilyar na sakit nito. Hindi ito kasing intense ng kagabi, pero nagagawa pa rin nitong mapangiwi ako.

I should have been able to tolerate it since it's been five years since I felt this pain, but I couldn't. Since the very start, I couldn't tolerate it.

The pain I felt inside feels so much lalo na ngayong nasa iisang lugar ako with Takeru. I expected this to happen since before, but this is too much.

For the nth time, I sighed again.

I dragged myself out of bed and went to the bathroom. I should get ready, or else, I'm going to be late.

I stayed up late last night not because I was reading the things needed for today's meeting but because of the mark on my nape. It wouldn't let me sleep even a wink.

Right after I finished preparing, I heard my phone ring.

Calling Kenji...

I took my phone and answered the call.

"Aoi."

Kumunot naman ang noo ko. "Wow, I thought it was Kenji," I murmured. I took off my shoes and put my phone between my ears and my shoulder. "So, what's the matter?" I started putting my shoes on.

"Are you getting ready for the meeting?" I heard Ryosuke

"Uh-huh," I answered. "So, what's the point of calling me? Hindi ka naman siguro tumawag para lang kamustahin ako, 'di ba?"

I heard him clear his throat. "Well, Kenji is asking me if you'll be alright, and he won't let me touch him if I couldn't confirm that you'll do well."

Napamasahe na lamang ako ng bridge ng ilong ko dahil sa sinabi ni Ryosuke. Really, these two.

"I'm fine," I answered. "Hindi ko lang sure kung magiging okay ang meeting na ito. So, sino ba kasi ang makaka-meeting ko? Wala sa documents na binigay mo ang name nila?" I curiously asked.

"You'll know once you're there."

"Alam mo, Ryo." I paused, stood up, got my things, and went out of my apartment. "Ang pinaka ayaw ko ay ang nagpupunta sa laban ng walang dalang kahit na anong sandata, 'd iba?"

I heard him chuckle. With the sounds from the background, I know that Kenji was near him. "But we know you'll do well this time."

I face palm. "Hindi ko alam kung saan galing ang confidence ninyo sa akin but I will do my best to live up to your expectation."

"Huwag kang mag-alala. Talagang kayang kaya mo ito!" I heard Kenji's voice in the background.

Napailing na lang ako. "Fine, I'll get going. Enjoy your honeymoon. Don't think too much about it."

Kaagad ko rin naman pintay ang phone call nang marinig ko na ang kakaibang ingay ng dalawa. Really, these two know no bounds at all.

Kahit na nasa taxi ay patuloy pa rin ako sa pagbabasa sa documents. Well, it was given since I am not really into this. Kung hindi ko bibigyan ng effort ito ay walang mangyayari. Mapapahiya lang ako sa makaka-meeting ko mamaya.

I am quite a competitive person, so I don't want to get left behind. When someone gives me a task, I'll do it regardless of the things that get in my way.

When I get in the company, those people who came early see me. Well, since the announcement at Kenji's wedding, I've been so sure that there will be people who recognize me. It was much better than being recognized as Parella.
