Their adventure will take place next chapter.
_________

On a bright Thursday morning, you found yourself groggily getting out of bed and heading out to the castle. You had begun getting up a little earlier this week to try and accomplish all of the schoolwork you had on top of saving the world. But there were truly just not enough hours in the day to do it all. You would get up when the crisp autumn air outside the windows was still dark from the lack of sunlight and you would trudge down to the library with a gaggle of Ravenclaws who must've just studied like this every morning just for fun. You had mentioned your recent schedule change to Sebastian and Ominis who had only laughed at you in return. Sebastian thought your suffering was just a bit funny as he had put most of his schoolwork on the back burner to focus on finding a cure for Anne. Ominis rather just asserted that you were trying too hard.

On this particular day, however, you fixed your robe and began walking out into the common room as normal. To your surprise, a figure stood ahead of your path. Leaning against the cool brick of the wall, Ominis stood with his eyes closed and head tilted to the ceiling, resting it against the stones casually. He did not have his wand up, but rather had his arms crossed neatly over his body as one foot crossed over the other as well.

You weren't sure he would recognize you but to your surprise, he called, "Good morning, y/n." Eyes still closed, taunting you with the ability to appreciate his beauty.

"Good morning, Ominis! And what do I owe the pleasure?"

"If it is alright with you, I thought I might join you this morning." He opened his eyes finally as they landed upon you. "For some studying, of course. You are quite talented at potion-making."

The two of you had been on much better terms after your heart-to-heart last week, but neither of you had brought it up. Ominis had had a rather obvious dislike for you before the conversation, but now he seemed to find you palatable, if not agreeable. Still, this did not stop you from making a fool out of yourself in front of him whenever you had the chance. Just the other day in potions you had knocked over your entire cauldron onto Everett Clopton, causing him to set fire and fall to the ground. (With a disgusting smell you might add.) Ominis had only let out a strangled laugh and then quickly turned around to talk with his lab partner. You figured his recognition was at least better than his previous avoidance. It really only seemed to be that these things happened in front of him as well. You liked to think of yourself as a rather talented witch, taking down poaching rings and conjuring ancient magic in your free time, yet you more often tripped than walked when you found yourself crossing paths with him in the hallways.

Still, you found that in the previous week, Ominis had joined you and Sebastian on your random excursions more than usual. The two of you would gang up to torment Sebastian and he would retort back with "You two find yourselves very entertaining don't you?" and "Must I remind you how lucky you both are to have my camaraderie?". You liked walking with them, sandwiched between the two Slytherins like a fun transfer student delicacy.

Today, however, Sebastian was not waiting with Ominis. Instead, he stood alone by the stairs up to the castle, waiting for you all by himself. Going out with just him and not the three of you seemed a bit intimate, but you could not kid yourself into thinking he wanted anything more than just some extra help with potions homework. Though it was pleasant he had remembered you telling him about your new morning habits. It felt nice to be listened to.

"Thank you!" You said. Ominis was truly, complete rubbish at potions. You weren't sure exactly why, but whenever Sebastian tried to poke fun at him for it, he usually snapped back quite defensively. "I would love the company, Ominis."
