Authors note: Sorry for splitting the chapter in two again, it was just getting really long!
Also, I tried my best to follow the Gaunt family tree so hopefully I didn't butcher it.

You smoothed out your skirt in the mirror of your dorm room. The floor around you lay a littered mess of discarded outfits you had tried to piece together, hoping to find the most presentable one for your visit today. You had tried everything. Nice slacks, although chic and flattering, seemed too liberal for an old, historic family such as the Gaunts. All of your long skirts didn't seem to be hemmed right to match the standards of high society and all of your corsets were too tight or too loose. You wanted nothing more than to impress them in any way you could, your appearance being the one thing you thought easiest to control. You finally settled on a formal evening dress you had borrowed from one of your roommates. I didn't fit perfectly as the bodice was too tight and it was a bit too high on your ankles but it had some intricate beading and lace which you thought might distract. Not to mention your hair had turned out rather fabulous today if you didn't say so yourself.
You and Sebastian had spent most of the day in the library studying for midterms together. He did not seem to be nearly as worried about what he would wear that night. You wished you could've seen Ominis but neither you nor Sebastian knew his whereabouts. You had all agreed to meet up around 4 pm for the journey there and you knew the clock was ticking dangerously close to seeing him.
Three loud knocks rang you from your daze. You took one last hurried look in the mirror, satisfied, before you opened the door to greet the stranger.
Sebastian stood in front of you wearing an ornate-looking ensemble of dark blue and silver. His hair looked much less unruly than normal as it was combed back neatly. Every detail down to his cufflinks was perfectly polished.
"My!" Sebastian exclaimed, running his eyes over you. "Don't you ever clean up nice, y/n."
"You don't look half-bad yourself, Sallow." You joked, turning around to fetch your wool shall and coin purse from the desk chair.
"Why, thank you. Suit is courtesy of our dear Omi-boy and I guess I have him to thank for my hair as well. He insisted on styling it like this, I think I look rather stupid." He craned his neck to catch his reflection in the mirror. "Have you got everything?"
"I believe so." You smiled, your gloved hand checking you had remembered to put on the jewelry you had set out as well. Of course, you liked Sebastian's clothes and hair. They just reminded you of Ominis.
The two of you made your way down the hallway as Sebastian continued to talk with you quietly. "I think Ominis planned on retrieving you himself, but he's been a bit preoccupied this afternoon. He's wearing holes into the floor from pacing about so much. An utter anxious mess, he is." As he spoke you could picture Ominis in your head. "Do us all a favor and work some of your cheeky magic on him, will you? Nothing can get him out of his head quite like you can."
Your face ran hot and your clothes began to feel stiff. "Use magic on him?"
"Oh, don't be silly y/n. Not that ancient stuff you talk about, but just like, touch his shoulder or something. Merlin knows that boy is starved for your attention."
"You cannot be serious?" You would have liked to poke and prod him with many more questions on whatever that meant, but the end of the hallway came much too soon and Ominis quickly came into view. Much like Sebastian had described, Ominis remained lapping the floor in circles, fingers running through his hair and an awful expression on his handsome face.
You nearly became distracted by the elegance of his attire. He was adorned in expensive emerald fabric, decorated with serpentine golden swirls and buttons. Everything from his perfectly cuffed sleeves to his shiny, brown leather shoes made you begin to sweat. He had never looked so much like a Gaunt before and it made you feel just the slightest bit scared of him. Though he was always poised and proper, he finally fit the picture of the pure-blood family everyone talked about.
