Chapter 25
Storm sighed a huge breathe of relief when she saw she wasn't late for work. Thomas Ferguson stood infront of the door playing with his fingers.
"Hey Thomas. Sorry I'm late" she said as she grabbed the keys from her purse.
"It's okay Miss. It's tough being a superhero" he said smiling as Storm unlocked the door.
She looked down at Thomas before smiling. He could have been using it as a metaphor or something.
"Excited for sports day?" She asked.
"No I never win anything" he said as Storm opened the classroom door.
"Maybe this time you will. I mean they have it every month"
"Joey always wins"
Storm sat at her desk and watched Thomas put his bag and coat in his cubby hole. Storm wanted to ask if Thomas's mother would be coming later on that day but she could already tell she wasn't.
By half nine every child in Storms class where excitdely dying to go to their monthly sports day. She guided them out in a line to the pitch behind the school along with the other three classes.
She knew they would go on second after Miss Daphne's class. She told her class to sit on the grass and wait their turn to go but like all five year olds these kids where not up for sitting quietly. After ten minutes of jumping around and Lorrie Ryans trying to climb the gate she decided on the best way to calm them down.
"Alright who wants to heard about Superman's latest adventure?"
There where screams of joy as her class jump about excitdely.
"But I wont tell anyone the story unless they sit down and behave"
Storm sat crossed legged in her black shorts and blue tank top while her class dropped where they stood, eager to hear about Superman's latest adventure. She told them about when Superman had to save The Flash from choking to death on a taco which when Storm was told this by Dick she nearly cried laughing.
As Storm neared the end of her story the whistle went for the kids to go on and line up.
"I'll finish it later" she said over the moans as they began to pile out onto the starting line for the running.
Storm stood watching them. She could easily see Thomas and Joey standing side by side.
"You've certainly got a way with kids"
She nearly jumped at the sound of his voice. She smiled as she felt his arm around her waist.
"You've certainly got a way with a stalker alert GPS"
Dick laughed as he watched the kids on the line.
"Is that the kid from..."
"Yes" Storm cut him off as Miss Daphne walked up to them along with Miss Dempsey.
"So Storm who's your friend?"
"Emm this is Dick my eh boyfriend" Storm couldn't help but blush as she said the word 'Boyfriend'. She couldn't believe that she was referring to Dick that way.
"Pleasure" Dick said nodding causing Storm to bite her tongue.
The two elderly teachers eyed Dick up hungrily. The day he had to wear shorts and a white tank top. Storm couldn't judge the two for drooling. If she hadn't wanted to embarrass herself she'd be drooling too.
"Eh Tara isn't that your class trying to climb the gate?" Tara Dempsey looked over her shoulder and started running towards her class.
"Tristen no!" She yelled.
