Chapter Six - Goodbye For Now.

Roxie stood down from the car and began to walk toward Storm. She wasn't surprised that Storm wasn't with their father. Word had spread about the new hybrid joining a league of superheroes. Roxie had followed the familiar scent to the alleyway and watched the fight take place. Poor Randall oh well.. she thought as she remembered the vampire. Superman and Batman stood in her way before she could leave the circle of heroes.

"You don't want to take me on peasants" she hissed as she glared at the two heroes.

"What do you want with her?" Batman growled.

Roxie smiled although it looked foreign on her face.

"I came to help my sister, word is she needs it"

"She doesn't need any help from you" Robin yelled.

Roxie turned to Batman's little bird.

"So young. Be such a waste to rip you apart" she said softly.

"Roxie don't" Storm warned.

"Oh Storm why do you have to be such a bore" she said rolling her eyes.

"What do you really want Roxie?" Storm said boldly.

"Well someone's changed. What happened to my little weakling sister?"

Storm glared at Roxie, who sighed and put her hands on her hips.

"Look sis you need me. You can't go through your transformation alone"

"I won't. My friends will look after me"

"Will they be your friends after you kill one of them? Face it Storm you need me. I've been through the change, I know how you can handle it"

Storm sighed. Roxie had a point. She had been through the change and properly knew how to control it. She looked like she had. She wasn't going on instincts and killing everyone, at the moment.

"Don't even say your thinking about it Storm" Kid Flash said angrily as she moved toward Roxie.

She turned around to face the team, her team.

"I have too. She's been through it. Just look at her. If she hadn't controlled it we wouldn't be alive right now"

"Is this what you think is best for you Storm?" Black Canary asked afraid of the hasty decision her young sidekick was making.

"It's better than being locked up in cage with people who clearly have no idea how to help me"

Roxie smiled as she held out her hand for her young sister.

"I.. eh.. wanna say goodbye first" Storm said nervously.

Roxie nodded. "Of coarse, but we gotta hurry. Da's looking for you. We need to get as far as we can to make him loose our trail"

Storm nodded as she felt a strong hand lightly squeeze her shoulder.

"We shall see you again one day Storm" Aqualad said as he smiled sadly.

She smiled and nodded at him before being tackled by M'gann.

"I'm going to miss you Storm"

"You too"

M'gann pulled away. Storm looked up at Superboy as he stared down at her.

"Everything will be fine with you and him" she said gently before patting his arm.

Superboy nodded without smiling and stood beside Miss Martian and Aqualad.

"Bye Wally" She said as Wally hugged her tight.
