Chapter 37.

After three days of avoiding everyone on the team and on the League, Storm had finally gotten back to work. Having to deal with the questions of her students of her whereabouts was alittle uncomfortable. To her students she just decided to go to the truth, well the half truth anyway.

"My sister died and I had to take some time off because this made me sad" she explained.

"When I'm sad I still come to school" Lorrie pointed out to her teacher.

Storm couldn't help but smile at Lorrie's childishness. Hopefully Lorrie wouldn't have to ever go through what Storm was going through. The thing that saddened Storm the most was the fact that Roxie had been burried in a unmarked shallow grave. Well that's what Icicle Junior said to her as she stopped him from robbing the local bank before taking him in.

Half way through her lesson there was a knock on Storm's classroom door. Sighing at the sight of the familiar dark hair Storm told the class to start their finger paintings before quickly making her way to the door.

"Dick you shouldn't be here. This isn't allowed. I could loose my job if this happens again" she scolded as she closed the door behind her.

"I know. It's important Storm"

Storm leaned up against the door frame and watched her class from the window ensuring no paint was to be thrown across the room.

"I thought you might want to see this" Dick said as he handed her Code Pickles.

She quickly glanced at the Brown file.

"What's this?" She asked as she examined the file.

It was a bulging file, filled with pages and possibly more.

"That is Code Pickles"

Looking back into the classroom, her face in a deep scowl. This is what Roxie died trying to protect with the Light? A stupid file with a stupid name?

"You should read it. We have already devised a plan for us to go on and search for these people to help us. The Light must be stopped. Anyone that disagreed with us before will reconsider"

Storm sighed.

"You know.. you feel too much like my boss nowadays than my boyfriend"

"Eh.." Dick scratched the back of his neck. "I didn't notice. There's a lot on my plate at the moment"

"There's always a lot on your plate" she hissed. "If case you didn't notice the other day my sister died! Where were you to comfort me like a real boyfriend would?"

"I was working on that for you. Read the file Storm" he said coldly before walking off.

Storm rolled her eyes, not in the mood for his brooding. He thinks he's not Bruce when in truth the two couldn't be any less different. Walking back into the classroom Storm quickly hid the file and went back to her class deciding that if she had to read this file then she would later.

At the end of the school day and after all the children had left and the classroom was cleaned, one child remained waiting for Storm as she got her stuff.

"Coming Thomas" she said as she walked by the small boy who began to follow her.

"Miss O'Hare where's Dick?" The young boy asked as he caught up with her. "He's been walking me home since you where out"

Storm looked down at Thomas disbelievingly.

Dick walked Thomas home?

"He had to work" she said as she continued on.

"Is that why you came in today?"

"No.. that's not why"

"Then why?"

"Because.. I had to work. Sadly you can't stay at home and mope about all day"

"Is that what you where doing?"

"Kinda"

The young boy shook his head and ran infront of her on the street. Storm watched as he suddenly stopped beside a man at the crossing. The man in the strange Brown trench coat and large brown hat stopped Storm from walking. She stared at the man in fear. He looked up at her and gave her a twisted smile. But.. but she had killed him. He looked down at Thomas beside him causing Storm to move into action and speed towards them. But it was too late. He'd already flitted away, Thomas under his arm, screaming in shock and fear.
