M/N pants and leans his hands against his knees, trying to catch whatever breath remains in his lungs. Ashley was no different, leaning against her brother, her forehead on his shoulder, her chest heaving in sync with her brothers. The twins took a glance at Leon, who didn't seem to have broken a sweat from all of this running and fighting, but it wasn't really that surprising, considering he was a government agent. "Hey, can we take a break?" Ashley asked, her breaths coming out shallow. M/N really hopes he can rest right now, his legs are killing him.
"Sorry, we need to keep moving." Leon told the two, causing them to let out low groans of displeasure that they both had to continue to move forwards.
"I'm definitely going on vacation after this," M/N grumbled, following Leon with Ashley by his side.
As the trio went, they came to a door that had led outside, Leon when first, and then the twins followed soon after, the cold wet rain and icy winds hit their faces as soon as they left that building, causing Ashley and M/N to cover their faces, "Hunnigan was right about the weather..." Leon mused, before shooting one of the creatures in front of him, exploding its head which had made something fleshy crawl out, with a giant stinger of sorts poking from the very tip. M/N made a face as he watched their own little protector fight the thing off. He watched as one of the creatures climbed out the window next to Leon and the creature, M/N looked around him to see if he could find anything to defend them with, before noticing a stick on the ground, he bent down and grabbed it, twisting it in his hands as he got a good look at it. Ashley looked at him, noticing the same glint in his eyes when he got an idea, and gave her brother a look, one he was all too familiar with. He just grins over at her, shrugging her hand off of him, before running over and smashing the sharp wooden stick through the creature's head and essentially killing it. Leon looked over just in time to see one of the people he was to protect, killing about two other creatures with just a stick. M/N threw his stick up and caught it, a proud smile on his face.
"See Ash, I told you all of those violent video games weren't that bad," He spoke, smiling smugly at his twin sister, who merely rolled her eyes at his statement.
"Yeah, whatever you say little brother," Ashley said, chuckling as she climbed in through the window before the two boys outside. M/N's eye twitched as he followed after her.
"By six minutes!" He exclaimed in irritation causing her to laugh even more. Leon shook his head at the two, climbing into the window and looking over at the two now quietly bickering to themselves. He really had his work cut out for him.

"Die! Die! Die! Die!" M/N panic yelled, bashing the head in of one of the creatures with his stick, just wishing it would die. Leon was shooting some of the others whilst Ashley had hung back, trying to stay out of the way of the enemies and out of the way from the two men that were fighting these creatures. Ashley grabbed hold of her brother's arm, stopping him from hitting the already dead creature on the ground, he looked over at her, his breathing very erratic at this point in time.
"I think you got him," they looked down at the disfigured creature, M/N stepping away from him.
"Ashley, M/N, this way! Come on!" Leon shouts for the two, who look over to him. M/N drops his stick as he grabs his sister's hand and leads her towards Leon, who is running towards a gate, some of the creatures following them onto the bridge that gets them across to a house on the other side. M/N is quick on his feet, trying to keep up with Leon whilst also having his sister stuck to his side as they run across the bridge and to the house.
"Hey! Over here!" An unfamiliar voice yells to them from the house, looking up, they see a man waving them over. The three quicken their pace as they finally get to the house, the twins leaning against each other as they pant from the loss of oxygen in their systems. The man who yelled at them closed and locked the door behind them, Leon came to the twins' side and made sure they were alright, before looking towards the Spaniards way, before walking his way.
"You!" Leon said in anger, the man walked backwards, laughing nervously.
"Hey... Listen, about earlier, I..." The man said, backing up into a wall. M/N watched in curiosity, wondering what this was all about as Ashley tried to catch her breath.
"Yeah, about that..." Leon said, pinning the man against the wall, his fist against the other's chest. The man locked eyes with the twins, a smirk making its way to his lips.
"Hey. I see you found your "missing twins." The man said, looking at the two. Ashley pushed off her brother, slightly annoyed by this man, as she walked forwards a bit.
"The "Twins" have names, and it's Ashley and M/N. And you are?" Ashley asked, just as M/N walked over to stand next to his sister, looking the man over, noticing how attractive he was. Not nearly as attractive as Leon, but still attractive.
"Name's Luis. Encantado." Luis introduced himself, nodding towards them. Leon was getting fed up with this, he didn't trust this man.
"Great. We all have names. Now then... Who are you? And what're you doing here?" Leon asked, pushing the man harder against the wall. M/N bit his lip, trying to act natural as he watches the scene unfold, Ashley looks over at her brother and gently nudges him, noticing the look he was giving the two older men. He jumped at the sudden touch, looking over towards his sister who was giving him a knowing look. It was no secret that m/n was gay, well, no secret to herself and their dad. Ashley, when they were in collage, had tried setting him up with other men she knew who were gay or bi, and despite how hard it is to be apart of the community, she still tried. It was repayment, after all, he set her and Sarah up, and look at them now, they've been girlfriends for a couple of months now, and she couldn't be any happier. It might not be that accepting now, but she's confident that it would be more accepting in the future. Maybe she could set Leon and m/n up.
"Very good questions, unfortunately..." Luis said, nodding towards the window, which had brought Ashley from her thoughts. Leon let him go, looking out the window to see the villagers entering the inside of the gate.
"Hide. Now!" Leon exclaimed to the twins, who then tried to find a place to hide from the villagers.
"In that case, here, help me." Luis said, going over to a fallen dresser. Leon went quickly over towards the dresser and helped the Spaniard to lift it.
"Ashley, M/N, quick! Over here!" Leon said.
"You first Ash," M/N said, pushing her to the dresser and the hole behind it. She went onto her hands and knees, crawling into the hole, before turning to face the three. M/N got onto his knees, and the look in his eyes was telling her that he was planning to stay there and fight alongside Leon and Luis.
"Don't get yourself killed," Ashley said, before crawling away from the hole. M/N smirked, Leon on the other hand was confused before understanding that he was staying behind. The two older men put the dresser down, as Leon got up and pulled M/N up off the ground.
"You can't stay here, it's way too dangerous M/N," Leon said as M/N shrugged off his hand.
"I can handle myself, thanks. Now, let's get this party started, eh," M/N said, walking away from them. Luis looked at him with amusement in his eyes, before looking over to a very irritated Leon.
"I like him." Luis commented with a chuckle. Great, now Leon had to worry about M/N possibly getting hurt by one of these villagers if he wasn't keeping his eyes on M/N at all times. He really needs a break.
Note: M/N wasn't even gay panicking, he was just like, "am I attracted to this? Yes, yes I am." and I'm just like, same M/N, same lmao
So yes, the reader is trans, but it's not a major plot-line, but it will possibly be mentioned a couple of times throughout the book. He/Him pronouns for the reader.
