The twins followed behind Leon, their breaths heavy from nearly dying and running away from one of those psychos. Leon climbed up onto higher grounds, the two following after him,"Listen. You're both the ones he wants. If we see him again, you run." Leon told the duo behind him. M/N didn't agree with that, jogging up next to the shorter male.
"What? What about you? You can't honestly think Ash and I will just leave you, right?" He asked, confusion in his voice. Ashley stayed back behind them. If any other situation, she would be proud of how worried her brother was for a mna he just met, but right now, she's more worried on surviving.
"I'll do my job. Whatever is necessary, to make sure you both make it home safely." Leon told him, turning his head, locking eyes with the younger male, just now noticing the small details he'd normally notice on Ada. Like how M/N's eyebrows had scrunched in confusion, or how he'd laugh whenever he had hit one of the infected. It was just small details. Details that for some reason, made his heart flutter.
"Yeah?" M/N asked, hugging his arms against his chest. Leon then noticed how his hair blew in the wind with the rain glistening the light to make it shine. Leon didn't know why he was studying another man like this, or why his heart seemed to flutter whenever he spoke so close to him. He shook his head, knowing he had no time to think about this.
As the trio continued to walk, they went inside of a barn, on top of the second story. Leon went first, but as soon as he got into the middle of the platform, the same gray dude came crashing inside, knocking Leon to the bottom of the barn, causing the twins to shout in surprise, both not expecting that to happen. The twins leaned over the ledge, looking down at Leon in worry.
"Leon!" Ashley exclaimed. The man slowly turned to look up at them, causing M/N to stand protectively in front of his older sister, his arm wrapping around her, a glare pointed at the man. Leon shot at the man, trying to get the attention off of the twins. He turned back around.
"Cease your pointless struggling. Abandon your body to the will of our God." The man said, walking towards him. M/N and Ashley where both watching with anxious eyes.
"You're a shitty missionary, you know that?" Leon said, continuing to shoot the man, which did not phase him, for he continued to make his way to Leon.
"Oh, Almighty! Grant me the strength to crush your enemies." The man spoke, picking his hat up.
"Son of a bitch!" Leon cursed, finding no way around him, "Ashley! M/N! Run!" He told the two.
"Okay!" Ashley shouts back at him, grabbing her brother and booking it to the other side and out of the barn, just as the barn went into flames, the fire now surrounding the entire building. No one could get in or out.
"Leon you crazy motherfucker! What did you do?!" M/N shouted, looking at the flaming barn. m/n wanted to help Leon, but a fire this big wouldn't be easy to manipulate. He's good with small things, not this type of shit.
"M/N come one, there must be another way to get to him!" Ashley shouted over the roaring flames, covering her face from the heat. M/N followed her, looking for any entrances that could lead them to Leon. Ashley stopped at a window, noticing Leon on the other side, with the man from before lying on the floor dead, "M/N! I found a way in!" She exclaimed, looking around for something to throw. Her eyes settled on a untouched stool, grabbing it, she hoisted it up in the air before she released in, shattering the window, which caused a back draft to then explode next to her. Hands went to her shoulders, pulling her back from the flames before they could even touch her. She shrugged off her brother's hands and went to the window, calling out to Leon.
"Leon, quick! This place is coming down!" She shouted. M/N came up beside her, watching Leon quicken his pace towards them.
"Leon, hurry!" M/N exclaimed just as the older man dived out the window and landed in front of the twins, who helped him put out the fire that tried to burn him and his clothes. Ashley stood up, bending just a little to hold her hand out to him.
"You're welcome?" She more so questioned then told him, he turned and grabbed her hand, letting her help him up. M/N stood up with them, a smile gracing his lips as he watched his sister help up the older man.
"Thanks." Leon smiled, dropping her hand. It was the first genuine smile they saw Leon make, which made them happy. If just helping him throughout this journey made him smile like this, then they'd happily try to get him to smile every once in a while, so they could see those dark brown optics brighten up ever so slightly.
Note: Leon, sweetie, you're gay is showing lmao I love them so much, like I can't wait to see Luis again, cause I really want M/N and Luis to interact again ^^
Also, I might change some rolls in this book, just not sure when the rolls will be placed, also, sorry for this chapter being so short, but hey, at least it was a good chapter, you got to see Leon internally gay panic lol
