August 1998 12 years old
m/n sat at a metal chair, wires connected to his temples as he focused his eyes on a piece of wadded up paper. "Imagine it bursting into flames." Darek C. Simmons spoke, arms crossed, watching the young tween. m/n closed his eyes.
"I can't..." Simmons slammed his hands on the table.
"You can't, or you won't? Set it on fire." Simmons barked. m/n had tears running down his face as he continued to focus on the piece of paper. His head was hurting, he could feel his nose bleed from the sheer force of manipulating the fire that hadn't appeared. "Now!"
"Shut up!" Yelled m/n, the paper ball bursting into flames. Simmons leaned back, a smug look on his face as m/n slumbed forwards, breathing heavily and sweating profusely. Their experiment was working. m/n would become a great weapon.
Present
Luis had hooked m/n to a gurnee, rolling the metal table to him as he kept looking through the microscope, watching m/n's cells fight one another for dominance. Luis wrote the data he gathered down on a notepad as m/n was still knocked unconscious. Something must've triggered him in his sleep. "Dammit." Grumbled Luis. Then, the doors had slammed open, startling the Spaniard. He drew his gun, only to see it was Leon carrying an unconscious Ashley.
"This time... It has to be different." Leon whispered, groaning in pain.
"Leon!" Luis got from his seat, immediately going to Leon and Ashley, grabbing him so he didn't fall. He helped the man towards the machine, with Leon setting Ashley onto the chair first. The dirty blond clutched his side as Luis held him up.
"You go first." Ashley said. Leon shook his head.
"No way. Like I keep telling m/n, I'm gonna get you and him home safe." Luis looked behind them at the unconscious adult on the table. "Where is m/n, Luis?" Leon asked when Luis went to the terminal beside the chair, turning the machine on.
"Ready?" Luis ignored him, turning his head to Ashley who was positioned under the claw. Ashley nodded slowly as the machine targeted the parasite, before it started to neutralize it. Ashley gripped the chair, screaming in agony. Leon held her hand, kneeling next to her, trying to calm her down. Luis covered his eyes when m/n's chest burst into flames on the Gurnee next to his station. The younger male was reacting to Ashley's discomfort. The computer that was analyzing his blood had been done, with a green "project inferno, created 1998..." The rest had been eradicated. The screen behind him beeped, which he brought his attention to as big green words "SUCCESS" were displayed on the screen. Both Luis and Leon sighed in relief before Leon's face dropped and he fell to the ground unconscious.
