m/n looked down at the ground below them, his grip on Leon's hand tightening for fear he'd fall onto the spikes below them, "you know, I didn't really think this whole rescuing thing through," m/n spoke, looking back up at Leon who was gripping the chain tightly with a grunt. The older man ignored him for the time being, trying to figure out how he was gonna get them down. Looking down, he saw that he could swing m/n towards the other side where the spikes weren't.
"Okay, m/n, I'm gonna swing you to the other side. When I say let go, you jump." Leon asked the young man, m/n looked down then back up again at Leon.
"Are you sure? It's a long drop," m/n was terrified of breaking something from this height if Leon throws him to the other side. Leon's hand slipped a bit, causing them to jerk downwards. m/n yelled, grabbing onto Leon's wrist with his free hand. Leon grunted, he was struggling to keep the two up.
"We don't have time m/n. Do you trust me?" Leon asked. If it was anyone else, m/n would've said no. He wasn't the trusting type, the only people he trusted were his dad and sister and Sarah, but he knew, that Leon had already gotten his trust after protecting him and Ashley.
"Always," m/n spoke softly, which made Leon swing the two quickly to one side. m/n was still terrified, but he trusted Leon.
"Jump!" And the man did just that and swung his body further to the side and let Leon's hand go. He hit the ground with a hard thud, the water soaking into his clothes, getting his binder slightly wet, but not enough that it would be uncomfortable for him. m/n groaned as he got up onto his feet, his hands wiping down onto his pants with disgust even if it didn't do anything.
Leon jumped off onto the ground, landing on his side with a grunt. That was gonna leave a bruise, m/n went to his side and helped him up, the two men looking up at the hole they just fell down. "Hang in there, Ashley. We're coming for you." Leon spoke, as he flipped his light on.
"This place smells like shit," m/n commented, holding his hand to his nose as his other hand held onto Leon's wrist. The young man didn't even realize he was doing that, but Leon felt it.
"Come on, just stay close to me. We don't know what's down here." Leon said, taking m/n's hand from his wrist and grabbing it securely in his gloved covered hand. As the two made their way through the murky water, they stood in front of the exit of the spikes, though someone wasn't as lucky as them when it came to getting out of this. The two went through, m/n taking his hand from Leon's as he held his mouth in fear the creature would wake up again.
"Talk about sticking the landing." Leon joked causing m/n to smack his arm at the stupid pun. Leon grinned at him as the two moved past the corpse.
"Please stop joking like that, Leon," m/n said as the two went to a hallway. Leon stopped and looked at him.
"Sorry, I'll try not to do it again." m/n looked down at him and nodded with a small smile. "Let's get moving," he said, before they saw something move in the water. "What the--!?" Leon exclaimed.
"Oh please tell me that wasn't a damn bug! I fucking hate bugs!" m/n exclaimed in irritation. He just wanted to go home. They continued forward as they went to a small opening, where the two had to crawl underneath to get to the other side. Now m/n really needs to take off his binder, because this environment isn't helping. He'll take it off when the two have time to breathe for a moment. Leon helped m/n up and then walked the other way, his gun aimed, before a bug sprung at him with force and pounced on m/n, who screamed, his body being pressed into the water soaking him from head to toe.
Leon turned around and shot at the creature until it fell off of him and exploded. Leon put his gun away and went over to the frightened m/n who was now sobbing uncontrollably, Leon helped him sit up and brought the crying man into his arms, the others head resting against his chest as he cried. Leon had never seen him get this scared before. Leon ran his fingers through his hair, trying to calm him down. He hated seeing him hurt like this.
After the whole underground maze with the sewer and bugs, m/n was back on his feet again, but was clinging onto Leon's arm for dear life, too frightened to leave the older man's side. Both of them had gone through a gap in the wall and made it to a ladder. Leon let m/n go first, his hand on the younger man's waist, helping him to go up. m/n climbed, his eyes drooping as he went, this whole experience was exhausting. His body was not made for this. Once on the top, m/n turned around and helped Leon onto the platform, where Leon bent over and coughed, the veins from before showing its ugly head. Leon straightened up again and sighed in frustration.
"Give me a break." He said, leaning his head on m/n's shoulder. The taller man wrapped his arm around Leon, squeezing his shoulder in reassurance.
"You okay Leon?" m/n asked in concern. This is the first time he's seen Leon cough like this.
"Yeah," Leon nodded, getting out of his arms and moving forward. m/n moved to his side and grabbed hid arm, walking as close as possible to him. Leon led him down the halls of the underground tunnels, which had made them come to a room with what they needed to escape. m/n's eyes lit up, running towards the elevator.
"Leon! An elevator!" m/n exclaimed, a genuine happy smile plastered onto their face.
"Looks like it needs power," Leon said. m/n grabbed a piece of paper from the side, looking it over.
"Hey, look at this. You can turn the power back on by the breakers that are located in the laboratory. Should be easy," he shrugged, going to walk away, but Leon pulled him back.
"You're not going, you're staying here." Leon told him sternly. m/n gave him a glare.
"Like hell I ain't, I'm not letting you risk your life just for power Leon. I'm going, whether you like me too or not! And you can't --!" m/n was surprised at what had happened, and Leon's thought process had abandoned him when he did. Leon's Gloved hands were on the taller man's cheeks, their lips squished together in a sweet but rough kiss. Leon pulled away, m/n still standing there in shock as he looked down at the smaller man.
"I'm trying to protect you, and I need you here safe. Okay," Leon gingerly told him. m/n nodded numbly, still not believing his slowly developed crush had kissed him to shut up.
"O-okay, right. Yeah, of course." m/n's voice came out high as he tried to clear his throat from embarrassment. Leon smiled, he already knew he was too far in love with him, and he was alright with that. He didn't care.
note: oooh, Leon be brave lmao also, I love how Leon is just so soft when he's with the Twins but if it's with Ada he just has no fucks to give XD
